With the end of the college baseball season on June 30, the new academic year began on July 1. And with the change of calendar came numerous changes in conference affiliations.

The ASUN welcomed Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky and Jacksonville State. The Bears had been in the Southland, while the Colonels and Gamecocks were in the Ohio Valley. The ASUN now has 12 schools as members.

The Big South added North Carolina A&T to raise its baseball membership to 11. The Aggies were previously members of the MEAC.

Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M also left the MEAC and became members of the SWAC, giving it a dozen schools.

St. Thomas moved from Division III to Division I with a spot in the Summit. Northern Colorado moved most of its athletic programs from the WAC to the Big Sky. The Bears will be an affiliate member of the Summit for baseball. There are now eight baseball programs in the Summit.

The WAC welcomed four new members: Abilene Christian, Lamar, Sam Houston and Stephen F. Austin. All moved from the Southland. The WAC has 13 baseball schools.
