After winning its first national championship, Mississippi State claimed the top spot in the final CBI Composite Poll.

The Dawgs were No. 1 in all six national polls.

National runner-up Vanderbilt took the second spot. The Commodores were second in all six polls.

Semifinalist Texas took third. The Longhorns were third in five polls and fourth in the other.

Semifinalist NC State placed fourth. The Wolfpack was third in two polls and fourth in the other four.

Stanford finished fifth. The Cardinal was fifth in three polls, seventh in two and eighth in the other.

The SEC led the way with six teams in the final poll. There were three from the ACC, Big 12 and Pac 12. There were two from the American and single entries from the Big 10, C-USA and Missouri Valley.
