#16 West Virginia advances to College World Series
Ben Lumsden homered twice and knocked in five as WVU downed Cal Poly to advance to the College World Series for the first time in program history. Lumsden had a three-run dinger to highlight a seven-run second and added a two-run dinger in the fourth. Gavin Kelly was a triple short of the cycle with two walks and three runs for the Mountaineers (45-15). Maxx Yehl (9-2, 5.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 4 K) earned the victory. Dylan Kordic had three hits, including a double, while Nate Castellon had two hits and scored once for the Mustangs (39-24).
Troy Super Regional
Troy 7, Little Rock 2 (LR eliminated) (box score)
Troy advances to College World Series
Drew Nelson had a two-run homer in the top of the first to put Troy ahead of Little Rock for good in advancing to the College World Series for the first time in program history. Tommy Egan (6-5, 7.1 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 8 K) earned the victory for the home Trojans (39-30). Noah Thigpen (1.2 IP, 2 H) recorded his third save. Jerdy Lopez had two hits, including a homer, for the visiting Trojans (39-28).
Auburn Super Regional
Ole Miss 5, #4 Auburn 3 (Auburn eliminated) (box score)
Ole Miss advances to College World Series
Will Furnisss smacked a two-run homer in the eighth to snap a 2-2 tie and help lift Ole Miss past Auburn to reach the College World Series for the first time since winning the National Championship in 2022. A base hit by Bub Terrell in the top of the fourth gave the Tigers (42-22) a 2-0 edge. Judd Utermark delivered a two-run double in the sixth for the Rebels (41-21) to tie the score at 2-2. The two-run blast by Furniss made it 4-2 and Tristan Bissetta went deep later in the frame for a 5-2 lead. Taylor Belza had a sacrifice fly in the ninth for Auburn to make the final 5-3. Taylor Rabe allowed two runs over the first seven frames with eight strikeouts for Ole Miss. JP Robertson (5-1) pitched a scoreless eighth to pick up the win, while Walker Hooks gave up one run in the ninth with one strikeout to record his ninth save.
Chapel Hill Super Regional
#5 North Carolina 4, USC 0 (box score) (series tied 1-1)
Jason Decaro tossed a two-hit shutout as UNC blanked USC to even their Super Regional series at one game apiece. Decaro (11-2) walked one and fanned eight. Colin Hynek homered in the second to give the Tar Heels () an early lead. Erik Paulsen went deep in the sixth, Rom Kellis V added a sacrifice fly later in the sixth and Macon Winslow finished the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the seventh for the Tar Heels (49-12-1). Adrian Lopez and Dean Carpentier both had hits for the Trojans (48-17).
Athens Super Regional
#3 Georgia 13, #14 Mississippi State 12 (box score)
Michael O’Shaughnessy blasted a three-run homer in the eighth to erase a 12-10 deficit and lift UGA over MSU in Game 1 of the Auburn Super Regional. Reed Stallman had a three-run homer to spark a six-run second and Kevin Milewski went deep in the fourth as the Rebels (43-18) built a 7-0 lead. Ryan Black had a two-run double to cap a five-run fourth, while O’Shaughnessy had a two-run homer and Kolby Branch added a two-run double in the fifth as the Bulldogs (50-12) went up 9-7. Milewski and Gehrig Frei both went deep for Ole Miss in the sixth as the score leveled at 9-9. Rylan Lujo homered in the sixth to put the Bulldogs up one before Ryder Woodson and Ace Reese homered and Milewski was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to give the Rebels a 12-10 advantage.
Austin Super Regional
#6 Texas 11, #11 Oregon 3 (box score)
Adrian Rodriguez registered a career-best five RBI as UT took the Super Regional series opener from UO. Rodriguez had a two-run double in the first to start the scoring. His RBI single in the fifth gave the Longhorns (44-13) a 6-0 advantage. Rodriguez added sacrifice flies in the sixth and eighth. Anthony Pack Jr. had two hits and scored three times for UT. Dylan Volantis (10-1, 5.1 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 4 BB) fanned 10 in picking up the win. Maddox Molony doubled twice and scored once for the Ducks (43-17).
Tuscaloosa Super Regional
#7 Alabama 8, St. John’s 0 (box score)
Tyler Fay tossed 7.1 scoreless innings as Alabama blanked St. John’s to kick off their Super Regional series. Fay (11-4) allowed two hits, walked three and struck out nine. Brennan Holt had a two-run double in the second to start the scoring for the Crimson Tide (41-19). Bryce Fowler knocked in two with a two-bagger in the fourth and Justin Lebron added a two-run double in the eighth. Adam Agresti doubled and walked twice for the Red Storm (36-25).
Lawrence Super Regional
Oklahoma 8, #15 Kansas 1 (box score)
Cord Rager tossed six scoreless innings and was aided by three home runs as OU took the Super Regional series opener at KU. Rager (5-3) allowed one hit, walked one and struck out six. Dayton Tockey launched a three-run homer in the fourth, while Camden Johnson and Trey Gambill added solo shots in the fifth for the Sooners (37-22). Jordan Bach homered in the eighth for the Jayhawks (45-17).
