In Tallahassee, Fla., Dylan Busby went 2 for 4 with two runs and three RBI as Florida State thumped St. John’s. John Sansone was 2 for 3 with three runs and two RBI for the Seminoles (7-2). Mike Compton (2-1, 6 IP, 4 H, 2 R, BB, 5 K) earned the victory. Josh Shaw and Michael Donadio both drove in two for the Red Storm (2-5).
Gonzaga 4, No. 9 TCU 3
In Fort Worth, Texas, Brandon Bailey allowed three runs over seven innings and struck out nine, and Gonzaga scored twice in the seventh to overcome TCU. Taylor Jones had an RBI double, and Justin Jacobs delivered a sacrifice fly for the Bulldogs (5-4). Dane Steinhagen had two RBI to lead the Horned Frogs (7-2).

In Gainesville, Fla., Logan Shore tossed seven scoreless innings as Florida blanked Dartmouth. Shore (3-0) allowed one single, did not walk a batter and matched his career high with eight strikeouts. Peter Alonso went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBI, while Dalton Guthrie was 2 for 4 with two runs and two RBI for the Gators (10-1). Kyle Holbrook had both hits for the Big Green (0-4).

In Chapel Hill, N.C., Eli Sutherland walked with the bases loaded to score Tyler Lynn as North Carolina won in its final at-bat for the fourth time in five games in a win over Fairfield. The Stags (3-1) took a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the ninth, but Brian Miller tripled and scored on Adam Pate’s grounder for the Tar Heels (7-1). Tim Zeng and Brendan Tracy each had two hits and a run, and Jake Salpietro added two hits and an RBI for Fairfield, which scored three times in the eighth.
No. 3 Texas A&M 12, Yale 5
In College Station, Texas, J.B. Moss drove in five and Jace Vines pitched six hitless innings as Texas A&M outscored Yale 12-5. The Aggies (9-1) scored multiple runs in five different frames. Moss was a triple short of the cycle, going 3 for 6 with a double, a homer, two runs and five RBI. George Janca went 2 for 3 with a triple, three runs and two RBI for A&M. Vines (2-0) allowed two hits and three runs in the seventh and finished with eight strikeouts. Andrew Herrera had a three-run homer in a five-run seventh for the Bulldogs (0-1) in their season opener.

In San Diego, Drew Rasmussen allowed four hits and one run in seven innings as Oregon State won the series opener at San Diego. Rasmussen (2-0) walked two and struck out seven. The Beavers (8-1) scored in six different innings. Trever Morrison went 2 for 4 with a triple and two RBI, while KJ Harrison was 2 for 3 with a triple, two walks and two runs for OSU. Ryan Kirby had two hits and a run for the Toreros (4-5).

In Louisville, Ky., Kyle Funkhouser matched his career best with 12 strikeouts as Louisville topped Princeton. Funkhouser (2-1) allowed four hits, one walk and two runs. Lincoln Henzman tossed two scoreless innings with one punchout for his first save. Brendan McKay had a two-run double in a three-run fifth as the Cardinals (7-2) erased a 2-1 deficit. Nick Hernandez had a run-scoring double for the Tigers (0-1).

In Coral Gables, Fla., Thomas Woodrey struck out 10 and allowed two hits in eight scoreless innings to lead Miami past Manhattan. Edgar Michelangeli went 3 for 3 with a run and an RBI, and Carl Chester and Romy Gonzalez each drove in two runs for the Hurricanes (7-2).
No. 7 LSU 12, Fordham 1
In Baton Rouge, La., Jared Poche’ turned in seven scoreless innings with eight hits, and Michael Papierski had two hits, two runs and three RBI as LSU won its opener against Fordham. Bryce Jordan contributed two hits and three runs as the Tigers (7-2) scored four runs in the fourth and five more in the sixth to break from a scoreless game. Joseph DeVito went 2 for 4 with an RBI for the Rams (3-5).
No. 8 Oregon 13, UC Santa Barbara 1
In Eugene, Ore., Cole Irvin yielded one unearned run on five hits with six strikeouts, and Matt Kroon went 3 for 3 with three runs and an RBI as Oregon coasted past UC Santa Barbara. The Ducks (7-1) scored nine of their runs in their final two at-bats and finished with 12 hits, taking them from a .212 to .230 average on the year. Phil Craig-St. Louis went 2 for 3 with a homer, two runs and two RBI, and Steven Packard drove in three for Oregon. Michael McAdoo had one of the five hits and scored the lone run for UCSB (8-2).

In Charlottesville, Va., Connor Jones pitched 7.1 solid innings as Virginia downed Monmouth to begin their three-game series. Jones (2-0) allowed six hits and two runs with four walks and five strikeouts. Alex Bettinger worked a 1-2-3 ninth with two punchouts for his third save. Andy Weber went 2 for 3 with a run, while Matt Thaiss homered for the Cavaliers (6-3). Shaine Hughes had two hits and two runs for the Hawks (2-6).
No. 13 Arkansas 5, Eastern Illinois 2
In Fayetteville, Ark., Dominic Taccolini allowed two runs over five innings, and Carson Shaddy and Grant Koch homered as Arkansas improved to 9-1 with a win over Eastern Illinois. Koch hit a solo homer, and Shaddy added a two-run shot later in the third inning as the Razorbacks took a 3-0 lead. Nick Maton went 2 for 3 for the Panthers (0-9).

In Conway, S.C., Colby Bortles had two hits with a homer and three RBI as Ole Miss topped Ball State. Henri Lartigue went 3 for 3 with a run, while J.B. Woodman went 1 for 2 with two walks and two runs for the Rebels (8-1). Bobby Bramlett (3-0, 6 IP, 4 H, 2 R, BB, 5 K) recorded the victory, while Dallas Woolfolk (3 IP, 2 H, UE, BB, 2 K) earned his first save. Alex Maloney had two hits, including a double, and two RBI for the Cardinals (3-6).

In Raleigh, N.C., Josh McLain belted a grand slam in the fifth as NC State downed Niagara. Chance Shepard had a two-run homer in the first for the Wolfpack (8-2), setting a program record by going deep in his sixth straight game. Ryan Williamson (1-0, 6 H, UE, 4 BB) fanned eight in 5.2 innings to earn the win. Taylor Hackett had two hits for the Purple Eagles (2-9).

In Charleston, S.C., Clarke Schmidt fanned a career-best nine in eight shutout innings and Alex Destino went 5 for 5 with four RBI as South Carolina beat Clemson in front of a sellout crowd of 8,242 at Founders Park. Schmidt (3-0) scattered five hits and did not walk a batter. Destino had an RBI single in the first, a two-run base hit to highlight a five-run fifth and an RBI single in a two-run eighth for the Gamecocks (10-0). Seth Beer (2 for 4) went deep in the ninth for the Tigers (6-2).
No. 20 Louisiana-Lafayette 8, Sacred Heart 0
In Lafayette, La., Gunner Leger tossed six scoreless innings with six strikeouts and Alex Pinero drove in three runs as Louisiana-Lafayette blanked Sacred Heart. Hunter Kasuls contributed two hits and three runs for the Ragin’ Cajuns (6-4). No player had more than a hit for the Pioneers (0-4), who finished with five hits.
Cincinnati 10, No. 21 Coastal Carolina 7
In Conway, S.C., Ryan Noda drove in three runs, and A.J. Bumpass went 3 for 4 with a run and an RBI as Cincinnati picked up its first win of the year by holding on to beat Coastal Carolina. Andrew Zellner tossed six solid innings for the Bearcats (1-7), allowing four hits and three runs with five strikeouts. Kyle Mottice and Manny Rodriguez each drove in two runs as Cincinnati built a 9-2 lead after six innings. Kieton Rivers hit a pinch-hit grand slam as the Chanticleers (5-4) closed to 9-7 in the seventh inning.
