Cole pitches Nevada past UC Davis

Escobar homers for Wolf Pack

In Reno, Nev., Jeremy Cole allowed two runs in seven innings as Nevada defeated UC Davis 7-4 Monday at Peccole Park. Cole (1-2) allowed seven hits and struck out one. Brock Stassi had a RBI single in the third and Joe Kohan (2 for 3) had a two-run double in a three-run fourth as the Wolf Pack (8-16) took a 4-0 lead. Eric Johnson (2 for 4) had a run-scoring single in the sixth and Alex Dreyfuss (2 for 3, 2 RBI) added a RBI double in the seventh as the Aggies (5-18) cut into the lead. Carlos Escobar Jr. had a two-run homer in the seventh as Nevada took a 7-2 lead. UC Davis scored twice in the top of the ninth.
