Vandy, Clemson Move into Top 5 in CBI Composite Poll (3/18)

There was major movement in the CBI Composite Poll after a full weekend of conference play in the SEC and ACC.

Arkansas had a 4-0 week and stayed in the top spot. The Razorbacks beat Oral Roberts and swept a three-game SEC series from Missouri. Arkansas is first in all five national polls.

Oregon State took two of three at Utah to begin Pac-12 play and moved up one place to third. The Beavers are second in four polls and fourth in the other.

Vanderbilt put together a 4-0 week to climb five spots to third. The Commodores defeated Indiana and swept a three-game SEC set from No. 17 Auburn. Vandy is second in one poll, third in three and fourth in the other.

Clemson had a 4-1 week to also rise five places to fourth. The Tigers took two from Manhattan before winning an ACC series at No. 5 Duke. Clemson was third in two polls, fourth in two polls and fifth in the other.

LSU went 3-2 to drop three spots to fifth. The Tigers topped North Dakota State twice before dropping an SEC series at Mississippi State. LSU was fourth in one poll and fifth in the other four.

Florida State, with its 18-0 record, moved into the poll at No. 11. Oklahoma and Campbell also entered the poll, while NC State, Auburn and South Carolina all dropped out.

There are seven teams from the SEC in this week’s CBI Composite Poll. There are six teams from the ACC, two from the Big 12, and single entries from the American, CAA, Conference USA, Pac-12 and Sun Belt.
