UL, UCSB rise in CBI Composite Poll (4/15)

UCLA remains the unanimous No. 1, but Louisville and UC Santa Barbara made huge jumps in the CBI Composite Poll.

The Cardinals had a 4-0 week, including a three-game ACC sweep at third-ranked NC State. UL rose 11 spots to No. 7.

The Gauchos also went 4-0 last week, with a three-game Big West sweep of No. 17 UC Irvine. UCSB climbed nine places to No. 10.

The Bruins put together a 4-0 week as well, including a three-game sweep of No. 10 East Carolina. UCLA is No. 1 in all six national polls.

Mississippi State had a 4-0 week to move up four spots to No. 2. The Bulldogs swept a three-game SEC set from Alabama. MSU is second in two polls and third in the other four.

Stanford put together a 4-0 week to climb two places to third. The Cardinal swept a three-game Pac-12 series from Washington. Stanford is second in three polls, third in one poll and fourth in the other.

Oregon State had a 2-2 week and stayed at No. 4. The Beavers lost to Oregon before taking two of three from No. 12 Arizona State. OSU is second in one poll, third in one poll, fourth in three polls and fifth in the other.

Georgia went 2-2 and slid to fifth. The Bulldogs beat No. 20 Georgia Tech, but lost two of three to Tennessee. UGA is fourth in one poll, fifth in three polls and sixth in the other.

North Carolina, Baylor and TCU moved into the poll, while Texas, Clemson and UC Irvine dropped out.

There are seven teams from the SEC in this week’s composite poll. There are four from both the ACC and Pac-12, three from the Big 12, and single entries from the American and Big West.
