UCLA bumped up one spot to No. 1 in the latest CBI Composite Poll.
The Bruins had a 3-1 week. UCLA rebounded from a midweek loss to San Diego State to post victories over No. 17 Tennessee, Texas A&M and No. 5 Mississippi State in the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series held at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The Bruins are first in all five national polls.
LSU moved down one place to second. The Tigers went 3-1, bouncing back from a midweek loss to McNeese to down Dartmouth twice and Northeastern once. LSU is second in all five polls.
Texas had a 4-0 week to climb one spot to third. The Longhorns beat UTRGV, No. 12 Coastal Carolina, Baylor and Ohio State. UT is third in three polls and fifth in the other two.
Mississippi State went 3-1 and rose one place to fourth. The Bulldogs defeated Austin Peay, Arizona State and Virginia Tech before falling in extra innings to No. 2 UCLA. MSU is third in one poll, fourth in three polls and fifth in the other.
Georgia Tech had a 3-1 week and dropped two spots to fifth. The Yellow Jackets lost to Georgia State before sweeping a three-game set from Northwestern. GT is third in one poll, fourth in two polls and fifth in the other.
TCU and Wake Forest entered the CBI Composite Poll this week, while Oregon State and Miami (Fla.) dropped out.
There are nine teams from the SEC in this week’s CBI Composite Poll, including eight of the top 12. There are seven teams from the ACC, two from the Sun Belt and single entries from the Big Ten and Big 12.
