Same Top 5, Texas up to 7 in CBI Composite Poll (3/17)

Tennessee continues to hold down the top spot in the CBI Composite Poll.

The Vols had a 4-0 week, with a win over West Georgia and a three-game sweep of No. 7 Florida. UT is first in all five national polls.

LSU also went 4-0, with a victory over Xavier and a three-game sweep of Missouri. The Tigers are second in all five polls.

Arkansas went 3-1, with a win over Central Arkansas and a series victory at No. 16 Ole Miss. The Razorbacks are third in four polls and seventh in the other.

Florida State had a 3-1 week to remain in fourth. The Seminoles lost to Florida before taking three from Boston College. FSU is fourth in three polls and fifth in the other two.

Georgia went 3-1 to maintain fifth. The Bulldogs beat ETSU before taking two of three from Kentucky. Georgia is third in one poll, fourth in one poll, fifth in two polls and sixth in the other.

Clemson went 4-1, with two wins over Liberty and a series victory over Notre Dame. The Tigers are fourth in one poll, sixth in one and seventh in the other three.

Texas had a 4-0 week, with a win over UT Arlington and a three-game sweep at Mississippi State. The Longhorns are fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth in the five polls.

Stanford, Auburn and Louisville entered this week’s CBI Composite Poll, while Ole Miss, UCSB and Texas A&M dropped out.

There are 10 teams from the SEC in this week’s CBI Composite Poll, including eight of the top 12. There are seven from the ACC and single entries from the Big 10, Conference USA and independent.
