Tighe Dickinson and Billy Jones have joined Travis Jewett’s staff at Tulane. Dickinson will serve as pitching coach. He was pitching coach for the Cleveland Indians’ short-season A team in Mahoning Valley. Dickinson also coached at FIU, Arkansas State and Washington. Jones was head coach at Appalachian State the past four years. He also coached at Oregon State, Arizona State, NC State and Oklahoma State.
Jered Goodwin was name assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for FIU. He was head coach at Hagerty High School in Oviedo, Fla., from 2008-16, guiding the team to a state runner-up finish this past season. Goodwin led HHS to a pair of regional finals, six regionals and four district titles.
Mike Silva has become an assistant coach at Little Rock. He most recently was an area scout for the San Diego Padres. Silva was an assistant at Texas State from 2013-15.
John Cohen received a four-year extension at Mississippi State through the 2020 season. He was the SEC Coach of the Year in 2016 after guiding the Bulldogs to their first SEC regular season title since 1989. Cohen had also picked up the title of Associate Athletic Director.
Cliff Godwin, the head coach at East Carolina, received a three-year contract extension through the 2022 season. During his two seasons with the Pirates, Godwin has guided ECU to a pair of NCAA Regional appearances, one Super Regional trip, an American Athletic Conference crown and an overall record of 78-44-1 (.638).
