In Charlotte, N.C., Zack Gelof was a triple short of the cycle with five RBI as eighth-seeded UVA thumped top-seeded ND to earn a spot in the semifinals. Jake Gelof (2 for 3, 3 R) also went deep for the Cavaliers (29-22). Andrew Abbott (8-5) worked 6.1 scoreless innings with five hits, one walk and nine strikeouts to record the win. Brooks Coetzee went 3 for 4 for the Irish (30-11). The semifinals will have #8 Virginia vs. #9 Duke and #2 Georgia Tech vs. #3 NC State.
Big 12: No. 15 TCU 7, No. 7 Texas Tech 2 (box score)
In Oklahoma City, Okla., Russell Smith fanned 10 in 6.0 innings as second-seeded TCU topped third-seeded TTU to advance to the semifinals. Smith (7-3) allowed three hits, three walks and two runs. Hunter Wolfe went 1 for 2 with a walk, a run and two RBI for the Horned Frogs (38-16). Nate Rombach had a two-run homer in the fifth for the Red Raiders (36-14).
Kansas State 7, No. 7 Texas Tech 2 (box score)
Cameron Thompson had a double, a homer and four RBI as seventh-seeded KSU eliminated third-seeded TTU. Tyler Eckberg (5-5) hurled five scoreless innings in relief with two hits, three walks and six strikeouts to earn the win for the Wildcats (33-22). Easton Murrell drew three walks and scored once for the Red Raiders (36-15).
No. 2 Texas 3, West Virginia 2 (box score)
Pete Hansen fanned nine in 6.2 innings as top-seeded UT eliminated eighth-seeded WVU. Hansen (8-1) surrendered six hits and two runs. Tanner Witt worked around two walks over the final 2.1 hitless innings with four strikeouts to earn his fourth save. Silas Ardoin doubled and knocked in two for the Longhorns (42-14). Matt McCormick had two hits and two RBI for the Mountaineers (25-27). UT must beat Oklahoma State twice on Saturday to reach Sunday’s championship game.
SEC: No. 12 Ole Miss 4, No. 3 Vanderbilt 1 (box score)
In Hoover, Ala., Tyler Myers was brilliant, allowing five hits and one earned run with six strikeouts, as Ole Miss eliminated Vanderbilt from the SEC tourney. The Rebels (41-18) avenged an earlier loss in the tourney to the Commodores (40-15), scratching three hits and three earned runs off Jack Leiter (8-3). Kevin Graham went 2 for 3 with two runs and a solo homer in the eighth inning that gave Ole Miss a 4-0 lead. Vanderbilt loaded the bases in the eighth inning, but Brandon Johnson got a double play to limit the damage. The Rebels advance to meet Arkansas (44-10) in Saturday’s semifinals.
No. 4 Tennessee 11, Alabama 0 (box score)
Luc Lipcius went 2 for 4 with a homer, two runs and three RBI, and Evan Russell went 3 for 4 with a homer, three runs and two RBI as Tennessee cruised past Alabama and into a semifinal matchup with Florida. Liam Spence and Max Ferguson (2 for 4, 2 R, 2 RBI) also homered for the Volunteers (44-15). Blade Tidwell tossed six scoreless innings with two hits and five strikeouts in the win.
Metro Atlantic: Rider 7, Fairfield 2 (box score)
In Fairfield, Conn., Joe Papeo allowed two earned runs over five innings, and Cal Stalzer yielded two hits over four scoreless innings as Rider knocked off Fairfield to win the MAAC championship. The Broncs (23-16), who got a homer and two RBI apiece from Brian Skettini and Lou Priolo, will be making their first trip to the NCAA tourney since 2010 and third overall.

Georgia Southern 9, ULM 5 (box score)
UT Arlington 11, Troy 5 (box score)
In Montgomery, Ala., Mason McWhorter went 3 for 3 with a homer, two runs and two RBI, and Jason Swan went 3 for 3 with three RBI as Georgia Southern eliminated ULM to set up a semifinal date with Louisiana. Eight Eagles pitchers combined to limit ULM to five runs on eight hits. In the other game Friday, Connor Aube went 2 for 4 with a homer, three runs and two RBI as UT Arlington scored six times in the first inning and conserved pitching by throwing nine pitchers one inning apiece in a win over Troy. The Mavericks move on to face South Alabama in the semifinals.
- VCU won its 20th straight game, beating Rhode Island 10-4, to move to the Atlantic 10 final. Hunter Vay has gone 8 for 10 with three homers and nine RBI in two tourney wins. The Rams will meet Dayton, which got eight innings of one-run ball from R.J. Wagner in a 3-1 win over Rhode Island, in the final.
- Stony Brook scored three times in the bottom of the ninth inning, with Evan Giordano delivering the game-winning hit, in a 3-2 win over Albany. The Seawolves, the regular-season champ, will need two wins over Maine to reach the NCAA tournament.

Big West: No. 14 UC Irvine 10, Cal State Fullerton 4 (box score)
In Irvine, Calif., Thomas McCaffrey went 3 for 4 with two doubles and four RBI as UCI won the series opener over CSF to clinch at least a share of the Big West title and earn the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. McCaffrey had an RBI double to cap a three-run third as the Anteaters (29-8, 37-16) took a 5-2 lead. His bases-clearing double in the seventh pushed the advantage to 9-3. Nathan Church also had three hits and scored twice for UCI. Jake Harvey went 4 for 5 with two doubles and two runs for the Titans (13-20, 20-32).
Mountain West: Nevada 16, San Jose State 6 (box score)
In San Jose, Calif., Dillan Shrum went 5 for 5 with two homers, four runs and five RBI as Nevada spanked SJSU to capture the Mountain West championship. Shrum had a grand slam in the fourth to make it 9-1 and added a solo shot in the sixth. Joshua Zamora (3 for 5, 4 RBI) and Dario Gomez (3 for 6, 2 R, 2 RBI) also went deep for the Wolf Pack (19-9, 22-18). Jack Colette had two doubles, two runs and one RBI for the Spartans (2-16, 6-27).
