Austin Super Regional – won by Texas
#13 Texas 5, Tennessee Tech 2
Ryan Reynolds had a two-run double in the second to put UT ahead for good in defeating TTU to earn its 36th trip to the College World Series. Kody Clemens (2 for 3, BB) and DJ Petrinsky (2 for 3, BB) both homered in the third as the Longhorns (42-21) went up 4-0. Kevin Strohschein doubled and scored on a base hit by Trevor Putzig in the top of the fourth to put the Golden Eagles (53-12) on the board. David Garza had a sacrifice fly in the sixth as TTU pulled within two at 4-2. Tate Shaw (2 for 4, 2 R) singled and scored an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth at Texas extended its lead to 5-2. Matteo Bosch (5 IP, 4 H, R, BB, 3K) was the starter and winner for the Longhorns.
Gainesville Super Regional – won by #1 Florida
#1 Florida 3, Auburn 2 (11)
Austin Langworthy belted a game-winning homer off the right fielder’s glove to lead off the bottom of the 11th as UF nipped Auburn for its fourth straight trip to the College World Series. Jonathan India went deep in the bottom of the first as the Gators (47-19) took an early 1-0 lead. Steven Williams had an RBI single in the third as the Tigers (43-23) tied it at 1-1. Blake Reese doubled and stole home in the fourth as UF took a 2-1 lead. Jarvis had a leadoff single in the seventh, moved to second on an error, went to third on a wild pitch and came home on a sac fly by Josh Anthony as Auburn leveled the score at 2-2. Michael Byrne (4 IP, H, BB, 5 K) was brilliant in relief in recording the win.
Fayetteville Super Regional – won by #5 Arkansas
#5 Arkansas 14, South Carolina 4
Carson Shaddy had a three-run homer to cap a five-run first as Arkansas beat USC to earn a spot in the College World Series. Luke Bonfield had three hits and four RBI, while Eric Cole went 3 for 3 with two walks, five runs and two RBI for the Razorbacks. Bonfield had an RBI single and Dominic Fletcher added a sacrifice fly in the second as the lead grew to 7-0 for the Razorbacks. In the top of the fourth, Jonah Bride singled and Justin Row doubled with one away for the Gamecocks. Both scored on a wild pitch to make it 7-2. Cole had a leadoff double in the bottom of the fourth and came home on a sac fly by Bonfield as the lead grew to 8-2. Casey Martin (2 for 4, 2 R) had a two-run double to highlight a five-run sixth as Arkansas put the game away with a 13-2 advantage. Barrett Loseke (2.1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 2 K) picked up the win in relief. Jacob Olson homered twice for the Gamecocks.
Lubbock Super Regional – won by #9 Texas Tech
#9 Texas Tech 6, Duke 2
Gabe Holt went 2 for 4 with a homer, two runs and two RBI as TTU downed Duke to advance to Omaha for the third time in the past five seasons. Holt homered in the third to start the scoring for the Red Raiders (44-18). Jimmy Herron (3 for 5, 2 RBI) had an RBI single in the top of the fourth as the Blue Devils (45-18) tied it at 1-1. Michael Davis had a two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth as TTU went up for good at 3-1. Herron had a run-scoring triple in the sixth to pull Duke within one at 3-2. Brian Klein (2 for 5) homered in the seventh to give the Red Raiders a 4-2 advantage. Holt and Josh Jung (4 for 5) both had RBI singles in the eighth as the lead grew to 6-2. Ty Harpenau (3 IP, 4 H, R, BB, 3 K) earned the win in relief.
