In Columbia, S.C., Taylor Widener tossed 3.2 hitless innings of relief as South Carolina got past USC Upstate. Widener (2-2) walked one and fanned four. Tyler Johnson pitched a perfect ninth with one strikeout to record his fifth save. Marcus Mooney (2 for 2) had an RBI bunt single in the seventh for the Gamecocks (35-9) to snap a 1-1 tie. Madison Stokes added a two-run single in the eighth for USC. James Fowlkes went 1 for 3 with one RBI for the Spartans (18-24). Cody Brittain (2-1, 6.1 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 4 BB) struck out nine for USCU.
No. 12 Ole Miss 12, Arkansas-Pine Bluff 1
In Oxford, Miss., Chad Smith struck out 11 in seven innings as Ole Miss mauled UAPB. Smith (4-4) allowed four hits, two walks and one unearned run. Errol Robinson went 2 for 5 with a triple, two runs and three RBI to lead the offense for the Rebels (34-12). Aderly Perez had two of the four hits for the Golden Eagles (17-22).
No. 18 Minnesota 12, Kansas 7
In Minneapolis, Matt Fiedler went 4 for 6 with a homer, three runs and three RBI to lead Minnesota past Kansas. The Gophers (29-13) erased a 3-2 deficit with seven in the second. Micah Coffey also had four hits, while Connor Schaefbauer (2 R, 2 RBI) and Austin Athmann (2 for 2, 2 R, 2 RBI) also went deep for Minnesota. Joven Afenir had two hits and two RBI for the Jayhawks (19-26).
