In Lexington, Ky., Zack Thompson tossed a two-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts as UK evened its SEC series with Georgia. Thompson (2-0) walked four. Austin Schultz had an RBI single in the third to start the scoring, and Dalton Reed (2 for 3) completed the scoring with a run-scoring base hit in the sixth for the Wildcats (1-7, 16-11). Connor Tate went 1 for 3 with a walk for the Bulldogs (6-2, 22-5)

Virginia 4, No. 4 NC State 3

In Raleigh, N.C., Andrew Abbott grabbed the win in relief as UVa edged NCSU to kick off their ACC series. Abbott (2-1) scattered four hits in 3.1 innings with one run and five strikeouts. Kyle Whitten (1 IP, H, R, K) registered his fourth save. Zack Gelof went 3 for 5 with a double, a run and one RBI for the Cavaliers (6-4, 16-10). Lucas Tresh had a two-run homer in the ninth for the Wolfpack (8-2, 25-2).

No. 16 LSU 10, No. 2 Mississippi State 5

In Starkville, Miss., Chris Reid went 3 for 4 with three runs and three RBI as LSU evened its SEC series at MSU. CJ Willis also knocked in three for the Tigers (5-3, 18-9). Cole Henry (2-1, 5 H, 4 R, BB) fanned nine in five innings in recording the win. Jordan Westburg went 2 for 4 with a homer, two runs and three RBI for the Bulldogs (5-3, 24-4).

USC 7, No. 1 UCLA 2

In Los Angeles, Chase Bushor went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBI as USC won the Pac-12 series opener with UCLA. Bushor had an RBI single in the fifth to make the score 5-0, and a two-run double in the seventh to give the Trojans (3-4, 10-14) a 7-1 advantage. Matthew Acosta (2 for 5, 2 R) had a two-run homer in the fifth for USC. Connor Lunn (3-1, 8.2 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 4 BB, 8 K) earned the victory. Jack Stronach had two hits for the Bruins (5-2, 18-5).

No. 3 Stanford 7, Washington State 1

In Pullman, Wash., Will Matthiessen had three hits and four RBI as Stanford won its Pac-12 series opener at WSU. Matthiessen had an RBI single in a two-run first, a two-run single in the seventh and a sacrifice fly in the ninth. Austin Weiermiller (3-0, 1.2 IP, BB, 4 K) got the win in relief, while Cody Jensen (3 IP, 2 H, K) recorded his first save for the Cardinal (4-0, 16-3). Andres Alvarez went 3 for 4 with a double and one RBI for the Cougars (0-4, 6-18).

In Nashville, Tenn., Jayson Gonzalez had an RBI single in the sixth to snap a 2-2 tie as VU took the SEC series opener from UT. Ty Duvall homered in the third to tie the game at 1-1 and JJ Bleday went deep an inning later to give the Commodores (5-2, 21-5) a 2-1 edge. Drake Fellows (6-0, 6 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 4 K) picked up the win, while Tyler Brown (2 IP, H, BB, 2 K) notched his sixth save. Justin Ammons went deep in the first for the Volunteers (2-5, 20-7).

In Seattle, Brandon Eisert struck out nine in 6.1 innings as OSU edged UW to begin their Pac-12 series. Eisert (6-0) allowed four hits and walked two. Mitchell Verburg recorded the final two outs to register his first save. Tyler Malone had an RBI double in the top of the first for the Beavers (4-3, 17-5-1). Mason Cerrillo had two hits for the Huskies (5-2, 14-7).

In Fayetteville, Ark., Isaiah Campbell tossed seven solid innings as Arkansas edged Ole Miss in the SEC series opener. Campbell (6-0) gave up four hits and two runs with two walks and five strikeouts. Matt Cronin (1.2 IP, H, R, BB, 3 K) recorded his seventh save. Matt Goodheart had two hits and three RBI, while Dominic Fletcher went 3 for 4 with two doubles, two runs and one RBI for the Razorbacks (6-1, 22-4). Cooper Johnson homered in the ninth for the Rebels (3-4, 18-9).

In Phoenix, Ariz., Gage Workman had three hits and two RBI as ASU topped UA to begin their Pac-12 series. Workman had a two-run single to cap a four-run seventh for the Sun Devils (6-1, 23-1). Alec Marsh (7-0, 6.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 4 K) picked up the win, while Brady Corrigan (2.1 IP, H, BB, 3 K) recorded his first save. Austin Wells homered in the sixth and Dayton Dooney went deep in the seventh for the Wildcats (2-5, 13-12).
