In Gainesville, Fla., Joe Sheridan allowed two hits and one run in five innings as UCF completed a two-game sweep of UF. Sheridan (2-0) worked around five walks and struck out four. Matthew Mika and Rylan Thomas (2 for 4, 2 RBI) both homered for the Knights (10-3). Wil Dalton doubled and scored for the Gators (12-3).
Northern Kentucky 8, No. 6 Kentucky 6
In Lexington, Ky., Jake Richmond belted a grand slam in the top of the third to erase a 2-1 deficit and put NKU ahead for good in its win at UK. The Norse (3-9) added three in the fifth to take an 8-2 lead. Chad Roberts (3 for 5, 2B, 2 RBI) also went deep for NKU. Tristan Pompey had a three-run homer in the eighth for the Wildcats (12-2).
No. 3 Texas Tech 7, New Mexico 4
In Lubbock, Texas, Michael Davis homered, scored twice and knocked in a pair as TTU topped UNM. Cameron Warren had two hits, including a double, and two RBI for the Red Raiders (14-0). Jeff Deimling (1 for 2, 2 BB, 2 R) went deep for the Lobos (5-6-1).
No. 9 Texas A&M 7, Northwestern State 6 (11)
In College Station, Texas, Baine Schoenvogel delivered a game-winning RBI double with two away in the 11th as TAMU edged NSU. Chris Andritsos had three hits and two runs, while Logan Foster homered and drove in two for the Aggies (13-1). JP Lagreco went 4 for 5 with two doubles, one run and one RBI for the Demons (7-6).
No. 10 Clemson 9, Michigan State 7
In Greenville, S.C., Clemson erased a 6-0 deficit with nine in the fifth to rally past MSU. Logan Davidson had a pair of RBI singles in the fifth for the Tigers (12-1). Dan Chmielewski drove in two for the Spartans (3-8).
No. 12 Ole Miss 10, Little Rock 2
In Oxford, Miss., Ole Miss broke a 2-2 tie with four in the seventh and added four more in the eighth to get past Little Rock. Nick Fortes drove in three for the Rebels (12-1). Matt Merino had a two-run homer in the sixth for the Trojans (6-7).
Long Beach State 4, No. 14 Vanderbilt 3
In Long Beach, Calif., LBSU scored three in the seventh after going hitless over the first six innings to edge VU. Chris Jimenez had a two-run single with two away in the seventh for the Dirtbags (5-8). Jayson Gonzalez (2 for 3) homered and drove in all three runs for the Commodores (10-4).
Alabama 3, No. 17 Southern Miss 0
In Tuscaloosa, Ala., five hurlers combined on the two-hit shutout for Alabama against Southern Miss. Brock Love (1-0) tossed two hitless frames with one walk and three strikeouts to earn the win, while Dylan Duarte worked a hitless ninth for his first save. Chandler Avant went 2 for 4 with a double and one RBI for the Crimson Tide (11-2). Jaylon Keys and Luke Reynolds each went 1 for 3 with a walk for the Golden Eagles (8-4).
UL Lafayette 4, No. 18 LSU 3 (10)
In Lafayette, La., Jonathan Windham had a game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the 10th as ULL edged LSU. Hunter Kasuls had two hits and two RBI for the Ragin’ Cajuns (5-7). Austin Bain had a game-tying pinch-hit two-run double with two outs in the top of the ninth for the Tigers (9-5).
