In Austin, Texas, Tate Shaw walked with the bases loaded in the sixth to put Texas ahead to stay as it split its two-game series with Arkansas. Zach Zubia (2 for 4, R) and Michael McCann both knocked in two for the Longhorns (16-8). Jacob Nesbit went 3 for 4 with a run and two RBI for the Razorbacks (18-3), who led 4-0 after two before UT mounted its comeback.
No. 2 Mississippi State 6, Samford 4
In Birmingham, Ala., Jake Mangum had an RBI single to snap a 4-4 tie in a four-run seventh as MSU came from behind to win at Samford. Jordan Fucci (3 for 5) had a two-run homer to spark a four-run first for the home Bulldogs (14-6). MSU (20-2) tallied single runs in the fourth and fifth before finishing the comeback in the seventh. Mangum and Justin Foscue both went 3 for 5 for the victors. Tyler Spring (1-0, 2 IP, H, 3 K) earned the win, while Cole Gordon fanned the three batters he faced in the ninth for his sixth save.
No. 9 LSU 5, Nicholls 4 (10 innings)
In Baton Rouge, La., Reid had an RBI double in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game and Cabrera drove in the game-winner with a double in the 10th as LSU edged Nicholls. A Tarver hit his second homer of the game in the top of the ninth to give the Colonels (11-11) a 4-3 lead. Hal Hughes had two hits and three RBI for the Tigers (16-5).
In Tallahassee, Fla., Drew Mendoza had a three-run homer in the eighth to snap a 6-6 deadlock as FSU rallied past FIU. A two-run homer by Austin Shenton (2 for 4, 2B, 4 RBI) in the top of the fifth gave the Panthers (10-10) a 6-4 advantage. J.C. Flowers went deep in the bottom of the fifth for the Seminoles (15-5), and an RBI groundout by Elijah Cabell in the seventh evened the score at 6-6 and set the stage for Mendoza’s (2 for 3, 2 BB, 4 RBI) heroics. Conor Grady (3-1, 1.1 IP, K) earned the victory, while Flowers tossed a scoreless ninth for his fourth save.
