In Conway, S.C., Lee Sponseller ripped a walkoff grand slam to lift Coastal Carolina (16-7) past Clemson (16-5). The win was No. 900 at Coastal for Chanticleers coach Gary Gilmore, who owns a 900-464-1 record in 23 seasons there and 1,153-566-3 in 29 seasons overall. The Tigers trailed 5-1 before rallying for four runs in the eighth, three coming on a Seth Williams homer.
Georgia Tech 6, No. 5 Auburn 4
In Atlanta, Ga., Michael Guldberg went 2 for 4 with a homer and three RBI as Georgia Tech slipped past Auburn to give Danny Hall his 1,000th win in his 25th year leading the Yellow Jackets (Hall is 1,208-630-1 in 31 seasons overall). Brant Hurter tosse five innings with one hit and four strikeouts for Tech (12-8). Judd Ward went 2 for 2 with two RBI for the Tiers (19-3).
No. 6 Ole Miss 9, New Orleans 4
In Oxford, Miss., Thomas Dillard had a double, a triple, three runs and four RBI as Ole Miss downed UNO. The Rebels (20-2) scored three in the second and four in the fourth in building an 8-1 lead. Will Golsan had two hits, including a double and a triple, and scored twice for Ole Miss. John Thomas Mauldin went deep for the Privateers (9-12).
No. 8 Florida State 6, UCF 4
In Tallahassee, Fla., Andrew Karp struck out 10 and allowed three runs over 7.1 innings, and Jackson Lueck homered and drove in two as Florida State (17-4) topped UCF (17-5). Rylan Thomas went 2 for 4 with a homer and two RBI for the Knights, who scored three late after falling behind 6-1.
No. 9 Kentucky 20, Xavier 4
In Cincinnati, Luke Heyer homered twice and drove in five, and Ben Aklinski went 3 for 4 with a homer, three runs and five RBI as Kentucky (15-6) rocked Xavier (7-13). Kyle Cottam added three hits, including two homers, and two RBI as the Wildcats piled up 15 hits, seven of which were homers.
No. 13 Texas A&M 13, Rice 4
In Houston, Michael Hellman went 4 for 6 with a homer, two runs and three RBI as Texas A&M (18-4) rebounded from a lost weekend against Auburn to beat Rice (9-14).
No. 19 Duke 4, Campbell 0
In Buies Creek, N.C., Graeme Stinson allowed one hit and struck out nine to lead four Duke pitchers in combining on a four-hit shutout of Campbell (10-11). Joey Loperfido went 2 for 4 with two RBI to lead the offense for the Blue Devils (17-4).
