In Knoxville, Tenn., Kumar Rocker and Nick Maldonado combined on a two-hit shutout as Vandy took the opener of their SEC set at UT. Rocker (8-1) allowed two hits and a walk in seven innings with eight strikeouts. Maldonado tossed two hitless innings with two punchouts to secure the victory. Carter Young and Jayson Gonzalez homered for the Commodores (10-3, 27-5). Connor Pavolony went 1 for 3 with a double for the Vols (9-4, 28-7).

No. 5 Mississippi State 5, No. 7 Ole Miss 2 (boxscore)

In Starkville, Miss., Kamren James homered and knocked in four as MSU topped Ole Miss to kick off their SEC series. James had an RBI single in the first, homered in the fourth to even the score at 2-2, and added sacrifice flies in the sixth and eighth for the Dawgs (9-4, 26-7). Preston Johnson (1-0, 2 IP, H, BB, 4 K) earned the win in relief, while Landon Sims tossed two scoreless innings with one hit and three strikeouts to record his fourth save. TJ McCants went deep for the Rebels (8-5, 25-9).

Gonzaga 10, Pepperdine 0 (boxscore)

In Malibu, Calif., Alek Jacob tossed a no-hitter as Gonzaga blanked Pepperdine to begin their WCC series. Jacob (3-1) walked two and matched his career high with 12 strikeouts. He needed 124 pitches to complete the fifth no-hitter in program history and first since 1990. Jack Machtolf knocked in two for the Bulldogs (10-3, 21-12). The Waves dropped to 4-3, 11-12.

No. 2 Texas 18, Abilene Christian 0 (boxscore)

In Austin, Texas, Douglas Hodo III homered and knocked in three as UT throttled ACU. The Longhorns (28-8) scored in every inning, including five in the first and third. Ty Madden (5-1, 5.0 IP, 3 H, 3 BB, 8 K) registered the victory. Grayson Tatrow had two of the four hits for the Wildcats (19-14).

Virginia 8, No. 6 Louisville 7 (10) (boxscore)

In Charlottesville, Va., UVa tied it in the ninth and won it in the 10th in the ACC series lid-lifter against UL. Devin Ortiz (3 for 5, 2 R, 2 RBI) homered in the ninth and the Cavaliers (9-13, 17-15) scored on an error with two outs in the 10th to pull out the victory. Dalton Rushing had a three-run homer in the fourth and Alex Binelas added a two-run shot in the fifth as the Cardinals (12-6, 20-11) built a 7-1 lead. UVa plated five in the bottom of the fifth to pull within one.

No. 9 Texas Tech 7, West Virginia 2 (boxscore)

In Morgantown, W.Va., Braxton Fulford was a double short of the cycle, scoring twice and knocking in four, as TTU won at WVU in Big 12 play. Fulford had an RBI triple and scored in the first, smacked a two-run homer in the fifth and added an RBI single in the sixth for the Red Raiders (6-4, 25-7). Paul McIntosh had two doubles and a run for the Mountaineers (4-6, 13-15).

No. 11 TCU 9, No. 13 Oklahoma State 8 (boxscore)

In Fort Worth, Texas, Phillip Sikes was a double short of the cycle, going 4 for 5 with three RBI as TCU outscored OSU to begin their Big 12 set. Gene Wood (2 for 3, 3 RBI), Gray Rodgers (3 for 4, 2 R, 2 RBI) and Tommy Sacco also went deep for the Horned Frogs (8-2, 24-9).  Max Hewitt went 4 for 5 with a double, two runs and three RBI for the Cowboys (6-4, 21-8-1).

No. 12 Notre Dame 3, NC State 2 (boxscore)

In Notre Dame, Ind., Jack Brannigan was plunked with the bases loaded to break a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the eighth as ND edged NCSU to begin their ACC series. Devonte Brown (2-4) had a two-run double in the second to give the Wolfpack (8-11, 15-12) the early lead. Brannigan tied it in the fourth with a two-run single for the Irish (15-6, 17-6). Tanner Kohlhepp (4-1) tossed four scoreless in relief with one hit and two strikeouts to earn the victory.

Postponements included Texas A&M at No. 1 Arkansas, No. 8 East Carolina at Houston, No. 10 South Carolina at LSU, Southern Miss at No. 16 Louisiana Tech, North Carolina at No. 20 Pittsburgh.
