In Las Cruces, N.M., Nick Gonzales homered five times and drove in 10 as New Mexico State picked up a doubleheader sweep of IPFW. The barrage included an inside-the-park grand slam to break a 3-3 tie in the fourth inning as the Aggies improved to 11-1.
UC Davis 4, Loyola Marymount 3 (24 innings) (box score)
In Davis, Calif., Spencer Gedestad’s sacrifice fly scored Tanner Murray in the bottom of the 24th inning as UC Davis won a marathon game with Loyola Marymount that spanned six hours and thirty minutes over two days. The game was halted after 13 innings on Friday due to darkness before resuming Saturday for another 11 innings. On Friday, Mike Campagna homered in the fifth inning to tie the game at 2. The next run came on Saturday in the 22nd inning when the Lions scored on an error, their third unearned run of the game. Jalen Smith tied it with a sac fly to score Murray, who scored three of the Aggies’ four runs. Nate Freeman tossed seven innings of scoreless relief with four hits and six strikeouts, and Andres Lara earned the win with four innings, one unearned run and five strikeouts for UC Davis. Holden Christian tossed seven innings with five hits, one earned run and three strikeouts for the Lions. In total, the teams used 12 pitchers and totaled 679 pitches.

In Minneapolis, Nick Swiney was electric, allowing one hit and striking out 15 in eight scoreless innings as NC State blanked Purdue. The Wolfpack (10-0) led 3-0 before J.T. Jarrett ripped a three-run homer in a four-run seventh inning. Cory Brooks allowed two earned runs and struck out seven in five solid innings for the Boilermakers (6-3).

In Greenville, N.C., Gunnar Hoglund turned in six innings with five hits and one unearned run with eight strikeouts as Ole Miss edged East Carolina. Tim Elko and Jerrion Ealy drove in runs as the Rebels (9-1) scored twice in the second inning for what would be the last runs of the game. Max Cioffi struck out four in two scoreless innings, and Braden Forsyth closed for his third save. C.J. Mahue (3.1 IP) and Matt Bridges (2 IP) combined for 5.1 innings of scoreless relief for the Pirates (7-3).

In Gainesville, Fla., Kirby McMullen and Kendrick Calilao each went 2 for 4 with two runs and an RBI as Florida overcame a 7-1 deficit, thanks in part to four Troy errors, to defeat the Trojans. Troy (8-3) built its lead on Rigsby Mosley’s grand slam in the second and added on as Austin Garofolo went 3 for 3 with a run and William Sullivan went 3 for 4 with a run and an RBI. Jud Fabian also hit a solo homer, his fifth homer of the year, for the Gators (10-0).

In Tallahassee, Fla., Dru Baker tied the game in the ninth with a homer, and Dillon Carter scored the go-ahead run in the 11th on a Dylan Neuse single and throwing error as Texas Tech rallied to beat Florida State. Cole Stillwell led the Red Raiders (10-1), who trailed 4-1, with two hits and four RBI. Robby Martin had four hits, and Tyler Martin went 3 for 6 with a run and an RBI for the Seminoles (8-2). Earlier in the day, Robby Martin had three hits and four RBI, and Jackson Greene went 2 for with two runs and three RBI as FSU beat FAU.

Texas 8, No. 4 Arkansas 7 (box score)
In Houston, Zach Zubia went 3 for 4 with a two-run homer and three RBI as Texas built an 8-0 lead after two innings and held on to beat Arkansas before a crowd of about 16,000 at Minute Maid Park. Austin Todd added two hits, two runs and an RBI for the Longhorns (10-1), who got six strong innings from Ty Madden (3 ER, 7 K). Heston Kjserstad went 3 for 5 with a homer, two runs and two RBI, and Matt Goodheart added two RBI for the Razorbacks (7-2).

In Long Beach, Calif., Allen Tanner doubled, tripled, scored twice and drove in three, and Rowdey Jordan went 4 for 5 with two runs and an RBI as Mississippi State evened its series against Long Beach State. In Atlanta, Cole Wilcox tossed seven scoreless innings with three hits and 11 strikeouts, and Cam Shepherd went 2 for 6 with a grand slam and two runs as Georgia won its series against Georgia Tech. The Bulldogs (10-1) led 4-0 entering the ninth before erupting for eight runs, including three runs walked in and Shepherd’s grand slam. Tucker Bradley scored three times and hit a solo homer, his second homer of the series. Tech fell to 7-3.

In Louisville, Ky., Bobby Miller allowed three hits and one unearned run with eight strikeouts in 6.2 innings, and Danny Oriente drove in three as Louisville beat Western Michigan for the second straight day. Zach Britton had a two-run double to key a six-run third inning for the Cardinals (7-3).
