In Charlottesville, Va., ODU scored five times over the final two innings in rallying past Virginia on Wednesday. Pavin Smith had a two-run double in the third and Doak Dozier homered in the sixth as the Cavaliers (17-9) led 3-0. Kyle Beam had a two-run single to highlight a four-run eighth as the Monarchs (19-7) took a 4-3 advantage. Jack Gerstenmaier had an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth as UVa tied the game at 4. Connor Myers (2 for 5) had a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth as ODU reclaimed the lead. Brett Smith pitched a scoreless ninth to record his first save.
No. 18 Georgia Tech 6, Georgia Southern 1
In Atlanta, Wade Bailey went 3 for 5 with one run and two RBI as Georgia Tech downed Georgia Southern. Kel Johnson homered and scored twice for the Yellow Jackets (19-5). Cole Pitts (2-1, 5.0 IP, 4 H, R, 6 K) earned the victory. Ryan Cleveland went 1 for 4 with a run for the Eagles (15-9).
No. 20 Clemson 10, Western Carolina 8
In Cullowhee, N.C., Chris Williams went 2 for 4 with a double, four runs and two RBI as Clemson outscored Western Carolina. The Tigers (19-6) led 5-4 before Williams and K.J. Bryant both had two-run singles in a five-run ninth. Bryson Bowman had a two-run double in a four-run ninth for the Catamounts (11-13).
No. 3 Miami at No. 17 Florida Atlantic as well as No. 13 Ole Miss at Memphis were postponed due to inclement weather.
