In Talking Stick, Ariz., Philip Clarke went 2 for 3 with a homer and five RBI, and Stephen Scott added two hits, two runs and three RBI as Vanderbilt knocked off Cal State Fullerton. The Commodores (2-0) piled up runs for the second straight day, scoring five in the first, one in the second and three in the third to take a 9-0 lead. In Surprise, Ariz., Bryce Fehmel allowed one hit and one earned run in eight brilliant innings, and Phillip Beau and Alex McGarry each had three hits and three RBI as Oregon State beat Gonzaga. Adley Rutschman hit a solo homer and scored three runs for the Beavers (2-0). Slade Heggen drove in two, and Ryan Sullivan had a solo home for the Bulldogs (0-2).

In Chapel Hill, N.C., Michael Busch had two hits, including a three-run homer in the eighth inning, as North Carolina pulled away from Xavier. Brandon Martorano had his second straight big day at the plate, going 3 for 3 with two runs, for the Tar Heels (2-0), who got six strong innings from Tyler Baum (7 H, 2 ER, 7 K). In Tempe, Ariz., Kyle Stowers drove in two runs, including a sacrifice fly that broke a 4-4 tie in the seventh inning, as Stanford edged Wichita State. Leadoff man Maverick Handley scored three times, and Will Matthiessen contributed two hits and an RBI for the Cardinal (2-0). Relievers Cody Jensen (1-0) and Jack Little (2nd save) each threw two innings, combining to allow one hit and strike out seven in the win. In Tallahassee, Fla., Robby Martin doubled in the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as Florida State scored once in the sixth and twice in the seventh of a seven-inning game to sweep a doubleheader from Maine. Jake Roper’s grand slam fueled a five-run fourth inning that gave the Black Bears a 5-2 lead. In the first game, Reese Albert, Mike Salvatore and Nander De Sandas each drove in four runs for the Seminoles (3-0). Caleb Kerbs had two hits and two RBI, and Hernan Sardinas went 3 for 5 with a run for the Black Bears (0-3).
Wright State 9, No. 11 Ole Miss 5
