Texas 4, No. 19 Stanford 0
In Stanford, Calif., Nolan Kingham and Beau Ridgeway combined on a three-hit shutout as Texas blanked Stanford Thursday evening to kick off their weekend series. Kingham (2-1) allowed three hits and three walks with eight strikeouts to earn the victory. Ridgeway retired the final six batters with a pair of punchouts to record his second save. The Longhorns (7-3) scored single runs in the second and seventh before adding a pair of insurance runs in the ninth. Zane Gurwitz went 2 for 4 with a home run in the seventh. Andrew Daschback went 1 for 2 with a walk for the Cardinal (6-3).
Hawaii 11, Minnesota 2
In Minneapolis, Dustin Demeter went 2 for 5 with a homer and four RBI as Hawaii handled Minnesota. Demeter had a two-run homer in the second and a two-run single in the ninth for the Rainbows (4-4). Alex Fitchett went 3 for 5 with two runs and two RBI for UH. Dominic DeMiero (2-0) dominated for eight innings, scattering seven hits with two runs and six strikeouts. Terrin Vavra went 3 for 4 with a run for the Gophers (4-3).
Murray State 22, Kentucky State 0
In Murray, Ky., Adam Bauer homered twice and drove in five as Murray State mauled Kentucky State. Ryan Perkins and Jack Hranec also went deep for the Racers (6-2). Caleb Arbeiter (1-0, 6.0 IP, H, BB, 3 K) recorded the victory. Brandon Story had two hits for the Thorobreds (4-13).
West Virginia 8, Nicholls 1
In Thibodaux, La., Isaiah Kearns pitched 5.2 innings of one-hit shutout baseball as WVU downed Nicholls for its sixth straight win. Kearns (2-0) walked one and fanned five. Jackson Cramer went 2 for 4 with a homer and two RBI for the Mountaineers (6-2). Kyle Knauth had all three hits for the Colonels (4-5) with two doubles and one RBI.
CSU Bakersfield 5, BYU 4
In Bakersfield, Calif., Mahlik Jones had three hits and three RBI as CSUB edged BYU for its sixth consecutive victory. David Metzgar also had three hits and scored twice for the Roadrunners (7-2). Max Carter (2-0, 6.1 IP, 6 H, 2 R, BB, K) earned the win, while Naithen Dewsnap (1.0 IP, 2 H, R) recorded his third save. Bronson Larsen (3 for 4, HR) drove in all four runs for the Cougars (3-5).
Sacred Heart 6, Seattle 3
In Bellevue, Wash., Sacred Heart scored three in the first and three more in the fifth in beating Seattle in their series opener. Elijah Brown went 2 for 4 with a double, two runs and two RBI, while Ted Shaw added three hits and two runs for the Pioneers (4-4). James Taubl (1-1, 7.0 IP, 6 H, 2 R, BB, 7 K) picked up the win. Jack Reisinger (2 for 4) went deep for the Redhawks (2-6).
