In Columbia, S.C., Braden Webb allowed one run over 7.1 innings as South Carolina evened its SEC series with Florida. Webb (9-2) gave up five hits with three walks and seven strikeouts. Tyler Johnson fanned three over the final 1.2 innings to record his fourth save. Gene Cone (2 for 3) homered in the seventh to snap a 1-1 tie and give the Gamecocks (15-5, 34-9) the lead. Buddy Reed went deep in the second for the Gators (14-6, 37-7). A.J. Puk (4 H, R, 3 K) struck out 10 in 6.0 innings for Florida.
No. 10 TCU 13, No. 13 Texas Tech 6
In Fort Worth, Texas, Austen Wade had two hits and three RBI as TCU tied its Big 12 series with Texas Tech. The Horned Frogs (11-6, 30-11) erased a 5-1 deficit with seven in the fifth. Connor Wanhanen drove in three, while Elliott Barzilli went 2 for 4 with two runs and two RBI for TCU. Corey Raley (2 for 5, 4 RBI) and Eric Gutierrez both homered for the Red Raiders (13-4, 33-13).
No. 14 Ole Miss 8, No. 11 LSU 2
In Oxford, Miss., J.B. Woodman whacked a pair of two-run homers as Ole Miss evened its SEC series with LSU. The Rebels (12-9, 33-12) scored in four of the first five innings in building a 7-0 lead. Colby Bortles (3 for 4, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI) also went deep for Ole Miss. Andy Pagnozzi (7-2, 3.2 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 3 K) picked up the win. Chris Reid went 4 for 4 with two doubles and a run for the Tigers (11-10, 28-16).
Arkansas 9-8, No. 2 Texas A&M 5-11 (Game 2 – 11 innings)
In Fayetteville, Ark., Rick Nomura had three hits and two RBI for Arkansas in the opener in an SEC doubleheader split with Texas A&M. Clark Eagan (2 for 4, 3 R) had a two-run triple and scored in a four-run sixth to snap a 4-4 tie for the Razorbacks (7-13, 26-17). In the nightcap, Hunter Melton smacked a two-run homer in the 11th for the Aggies (13-7, 34-9). Nick Banks had a grand slam in the fifth to erase a 6-3 deficit for TAMU. Luke Bonfield had a three-run homer in a five-run first for Arkansas.
No. 3 Miami 11, Florida A&M 2
In Coral Gables, Fla., Brandon Lopez went 3 for 3 with a double and three runs as Miami clinched a series win over Florida A&M. The Hurricanes (32-8) scored a pair in the first and fourth before putting the game away with 11 in the fifth. Michael Mediavilla (5 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 4 K) earned the victory. Willis McDaniel had three hits for the Rattlers (24-16).
Clemson 10, No. 5 Florida State 3
In Clemson, S.C., Chris Okey went 3 for 5 with a homer and five RBI as Clemson took the ACC series opener with FSU. The Tigers (10-12, 27-14) scored three in the fourth, fifth and eighth innings. Weston Wilson homered and drove in four for Clemson. John Sansone had two hits and a run for the Seminoles (13-5, 28-12).
No. 7 Vanderbilt 10, Georgia 3
In Nashville, Tenn., Will Toffey went 3 for 3 with a triple and three runs to help Vanderbilt secure an SEC series win over Georgia as head coach Tim Corbin recorded his 600th victory with the Commodores. Nolan Rogers and Connor Kaiser both knocked in a pair for Vandy (12-8, 33-10). Kyle Wright (5-3, 7 IP, 5 H, 3 R, BB, 9 K) earned the victory. Stephen Wrenn homered and drove in two for the Bulldogs (7-13, 22-22).
No. 8 Louisville 4, St. John’s 0
In Louisville, Ky., Kyle Funkhouser tossed seven scoreless innings as Louisville clinched a series victory over St. John’s. Funkhouser (5-3) allowed four hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. Will Smith went 3 for 3 with three runs, while Devin Hairston drove in two for the Cardinals (35-9). John Valente and Robbie Knightes both had two hits for the Red Storm (21-19-1).
No. 18 Coastal Carolina at Georgia Tech postponed due to inclement weather with Yellow Jackets leading 5-2 in 4th inning, will resume on Sunday at 11 a.m.
