In Raleigh, N.C., Ike Freeman drove in three as UNC completed its ACC sweep at NC State. Michael Busch and Kyle Datres both scored twice for the Tar Heels (18-6, 31-13). Caden O’Brien (4-0, 4 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 4 K) earned the win in relief, while Ben Casparius (2 IP, 3 BB, K) recorded his first save. Brock Deatherage (3 for 4, 2 R, 3 RBI) homered twice for the Wolfpack (15-9, 31-11).
No. 8 UCLA 6, Cal Poly 4
In San Luis Obispo, Calif., Chase Strumpf went 2 for 4 with two runs and two RBI as UCLA swept Cal Poly. Strumpf’s RBI groundout in the fifth snapped a 3-3 tie and put the Bruins (29-10) on top for good. He added a home run in the seventh. Garrett Mitchell also had two hits and two RBI for the victors. Colby Barrick had two hits and scored twice for the Mustangs (19-23).
TCU 9, No. 4 Texas Tech 5
In Fort Worth, Texas, Jake Eissler fanned a career-high 11 over the final five innings as TCU earned a Big 12 series win over TTU. Eissler (3-1) retired all 15 batters he faced in recording the victory. Johnny Rizer knocked in three, while Josh Watson (2 for 2, 2 RBI) and Conner Shepherd both drove in a pair for the Horned Frogs (8-9, 22-18) Josh Jung (2 for 4, 2 R) went deep for the Red Raiders (11-7, 33-12).
No. 5 Oregon State 6, Arizona State 5
In Corvallis, Ore., Troy Claunch had a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh to snap a 5-5 tie as OSU finished its Pac-12 sweep of ASU. Claunch and Cadyn Grenier (1 for 5, 2 RBI) both homered for the Beavers (12-6, 32-7). Gage Canning went 3 for 5 with a double, a run and two RBI for the Sun Devils (10-11, 18-25).
No. 7 Arkansas 9, Alabama 7
In Fayetteville, Ark., Dominic Fletcher had a three-run homer in the fifth to erase a 7-5 deficit and propel Arkansas to an SEC sweep of Alabama. Fletcher had two hits and drove in four for the Razorbacks (13-8, 32-13). Cobie Vance and John Trousdale both went deep for the Crimson Tide (5-16, 23-23).
Houston 6, No. 9 East Carolina 5
In Greenville, N.C., Joe Davis had a three-run homer in a four-run seventh as UH finished its American sweep at ECU. Davis had three hits, while Connor Hollis went 2 for 4 with one run and two RBI for the Cougars (13-5, 28-16). Brayson Hurdsman (2-4, 3.2 IP, 2 H, BB, 2 K) earned the win in relief, while Joey Pulido recorded the final two outs for his second save. Bryant Packard doubled and knocked in two for the Pirates (8-7, 30-12).
No. 13 Clemson 9, Virginia 8
In Charlottesville, Va., Patrick Cromwell had a leadoff homer to spark a five-run third as Clemson completed the three-game ACC sweep at UVa. Chris Williams (2 for 4, HR, 2 R, 4 RBI) and Kyle Wilkie (1 for 3) both had two-run singles in the third for the Tigers (17-7, 34-11). Tanner Morris went 1 for 3 with two walks and two RBI for the Cavaliers (9-15, 24-20).
