Coastal Carolina 5, No. 8 Virginia 4

In Conway, S.C., Billy Cooke delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth to snap a 4-4 tie and propel Coastal Carolina past Virginia. GK Young had a two-run homer in the first for the Chanticleers (2-1). Andrew Beckwith (1-0) picked up the win, scattering five hits over 4.1 scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Adam Haseley had a two-run homer in the fifth for the Cavaliers (2-1).

 

No. 1 Florida 12, Florida Gulf Coast 3

In Gainesville, Fla., Deacon Liput went 2 for 2 with two doubles and four RBI, and Mike Rivera plated three runs as Florida completed a sweep of FGCU. Dalton Guthrie went 3 for 4 with two runs for the Gators (3-0), who scored six runs in the seventh to build a 10-1 lead.

 

No. 2 Louisville 10, SIUE 3

In Louisville, Ky., Corey Ray capped a huge weekend by going 2 for 3 with a homer, four runs, two RBI and three stolen bases as Louisville swept SIUE. Ray went 6 for 9 with two homers, nine runs, seven RBI and was 6 for 6 in stolen bases over the weekend. Nick Solak drove in three runs in support of Drew Harrington, who struck out nine and allowed three hits in six scoreless innings for the Cardinals (3-0).

 

No. 3 Vanderbilt 17, San Diego 1

In Nashville, Tenn., Alonzo Jones went 3 for 3 with a homer, two runs and five RBI as Vanderbilt scored early and often in routing San Diego to complete a weekend sweep. Jeren Kendall went 3 for 5 with a homer, three runs and two RBI to cap a big weekend – 10 for 15 with three homers, seven runs, five stolen bases and 10 RBI. Ryan Johnson tossed four scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win for Vandy (3-0).

 

No. 4 Texas A&M 5, Hofstra 0

In College Station, Texas, Tyler Ivey allowed two hits and struck out seven in six scoreless innings as Texas A&M completed a sweep of Hofstra. J.B. Moss went 3 for 3 with a double and two RBI, and Ronnie Gideon went 2 for 4 with a homer for the second straight day and three RBI for the Aggies (3-0). Steven Foster and Teddy Cillis each had two hits for Hofstra (0-3).

 

No. 5 Miami 8, Rutgers 1

In Coral Gables, Fla., Danny Garcia yielded two hits and struck out four in seven scoreless innings as Miami completed a sweep of Rutgers. Johnny Ruiz paced the Hurricanes (3-0) by going 4 for 4 with a double and three RBI, and Christopher Barr contributed two RBI.

 

No. 6 Oregon State 8, Minnesota 7

In Surprise, Ariz., Nick Madrigal drove in three runs, including the game-winner in the eighth inning, and Caleb Hamilton homered and drove in three as Oregon State edged Minnesota. Trever Morrison went 3 for 3 with two runs out of the leadoff spot for the Beavers (2-1). Toby Hanson went 2 for 4 with a homer and three RBI for the Golden Gophers (3-1), who beat Utah twice and Utah Valley once over the weekend.

 

No. 7 LSU 12, Cincinnati 4

In Baton Rouge, La., Bryce Adams launched a grand slam and finished with five RBI, and Jake Fraley had three hits and three runs as LSU swept Cincinnati. Beau Jordan (2 RBI), Jordan Romero (2 RBI) and O’Neal Lochridge (2 RBI) also homered for the Tigers (3-0). Devin Wenzel and Woody Wallace each hit solo homers for the Bearcats (0-3).

 

No. 18 Cal State Fullerton 4, Stanford 3

In Palo Alto, Calif., Colton Eastman retired the first 16 batters of the game in earning his first collegiate victory as Sal State Fullerton salvaged the finale of its series at Stanford. Eastman (1-0) allowed three hits and three runs (two earned) in 5.1 innings with five strikeouts. Chad Hockin struck out the side in the ninth for his first save. Chris Hudgins went 1 for 4 with a double, one run and one RBI for the Titans (1-2). Tommy Edman went 1 for 4 with one run and one RBI for the Cardinal (2-1).

 

No. 19 USC 7, North Dakota 6

In Los Angeles, Timmy Robinson drove in the game-winner with two away in the bottom of the ninth as USC salvaged the finale of its series with North Dakota. Jeremy Martinez and AJ Ramirez both had two hits and two runs for the Trojans (1-2). Ben Reznicek went 4 for 4 with two runs and two RBI for UND (2-1).

 

No. 20 NC State 7, Kent State 5

In Myrtle Beach, S.C., Andrew Knizer homered and drove in three to lead NC State past Kent State. Preston Palmeiro (2 for 5) had an RBI single in a three-run seventh to put the Wolfpack (2-1) ahead to stay. Zarley Zalewski had a three-run homer in the sixth for the Golden Flashes (0-3).
