In Oxford, Miss., Tate Blackman had three RBI and J.B. Woodman knocked in two as Ole Miss edged LSU to begin their SEC series. The Rebels (11-8, 32-11) erased a 5-4 deficit with three in the bottom of the sixth. Blackman had three hits and two runs, while Woodman doubled twice. Brady Feigl (4-0) recorded the final two outs in the sixth to pick up the victory, while Wyatt Short allowed one hit over two scoreless innings with one strikeout to notch his seventh save. Jordan Romero had two hits and three RBI for the Tigers (10-9, 27-15).
No. 4 Mississippi State 12, Alabama 5
In Tuscaloosa, Ala., Nathaniel Lowe and Brent Rooker both drove in three as MSU took the SEC series opener at Alabama. The Bulldogs (11-8, 29-13-1) had five-run innings in the third and ninth. Dakota Hudson (6-3, 5.0 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K) earned the win, while Blake Smith (3.2 IP, BB, 4 K) recorded his second save. Chandler Taylor had two hits and three RBI for the Crimson Tide (9-10, 24-19).
BYU 11, Gonzaga 2
In Provo, Utah, Keaton Kringlen had three hits and three RBI to lead BYU past Gonzaga in the WCC series lid-lifter. The Cougars (11-5, 29-9) scored in six of their eight at-bats, including three in the first and eighth. Michael Rucker (9-0, 7.0 IP, 6 H, R, BB, 6 K) earned the victory. Jeffrey Bohling doubled and drove in one for the Bulldogs (12-7, 24-14).
Arizona 8, USC 5
In Los Angeles, Arizona scored four in the top of the ninth to rally past USC in the Pac-12 series opener. JJ Matijevic went 4 for 5 with two runs, while Zach Gibbons had three hits and two RBI for the Wildcats (11-8, 28-14). Rio Gomez (2-0, 2 IP, H, 4 K) picked up the win, while Bobby Dalbec worked around a hit and a walk in the bottom of the ninth with two strikeouts to earn his sixth save. Corey Dempster and Jeremy Martinez both had three hits for the Trojans (7-9, 18-22).
