Oklahoma advances to College World Series

Deiten Lachance had a two-run single to highlight a six-run second as OU downed KU in the completion of Sunday’s suspended game to advance to the College World Series for the first time since 2022. Lachance had two hits and knocked in four, while Dasan Harris went 2 for 5 with a homer, two runs and three RBI for the Sooners (38-22). Tyson Leblanc had two hits, including a homer, for the Jayhawks (45-18).

#7 Alabama advances to College World Series

Jason Torres had a grand slam in the seventh to extend a 3-2 lead as Alabama beat St. John’s in the completion of Sunday’s suspended game to reach the College World Series for the first time since 1999. Peyton Steele had an RBI single and scored on a groundout by Brady Neal in the top of the third as the Crimson Tide (42-19) took an early 2-0 lead. Jon LeGrande had an run-scoring groundout in the bottom of the frame as the Red Storm (36-26) cut the deficit in half at 2-1. Luke Vaughn executed a sacrifice bunt to bring home Eric Hines in the fourth as Alabama extended its lead to 3-1. Adam Agresti homered in the sixth for SJU to make it a one-run game at 3-2. Torres smacked a grand slam in the seventh to give the Crimson Tide a 7-2 advantage. The game was suspended in the top of the eighth due to inclement weather and resumed on Monday with the score finishing 7-2. Zane Adams (8-4) allowed two runs over 6.1 innings with six hits, no walks and eight strikeouts to record the win. Matthew Heiberger tossed the final 2.2 innings with one hit, no runs and two punchouts.
