Top 6 hold spots, Kansas up to #11 in CBI Composite Poll (4/27)

UCLA and North Carolina remain unanimous in the top two places and Kansas climbed five spots to No. 11 in the latest CBI Composite Poll.

The Bruins had a 3-1 week, defeating Hawai’i before taking two of three from Sacramento State. UCLA is first in all five national polls.

The Tar Heels went 3-1, downing High Point before winning two of three at Duke in ACC action. UNC is second in all five national polls.

Georgia Tech had a 4-0 week to stay in third. The Yellow Jackets defeated No. 5 Georgia prior to sweeping an ACC set at Wake Forest. Georgia Tech is third in four polls and fourth in the other.

Texas went 2-1 to remain in fourth. The Longhorns took two of three at Vanderbilt in SEC play. UT is third in one poll and fourth in the other four.

Georgia had a 2-2 week and stayed in fifth. Following the loss to Georgia Tech, the Bulldogs won two of three at No. 20 Ole Miss in SEC action. UGA is fifth in three polls, sixth in one poll and seventh in the other.

Oregon State went 3-1 and remained in sixth. The Beavers rebounded from a loss to Oregon to sweep a three-game series from Hawai’i. OSU is fifth in two polls and sixth in the other three.

Kansas had a 4-0 week to jump five places to No. 11. The Jayhawks beat No. 17 Nebraska before sweeping a three-game Big 12 series at Kansas State.

Oregon and USC reentered the CBI Composite Poll, while Alabama and Virginia dropped out.

There are seven teams from the SEC in this week’s CBI Composite Poll, including five in the top nine. There are four from the ACC and Big Ten, two from the Big 12 and Sun Belt, and one independent.
