Magdaleno (5-4) took a no-hitter into the ninth, surrendering an infield hit with one away. He walked one and faced three over the minimum. Tate Shimao (2 for 4) doubled and scored on a two-out single by Mana Lau Kong with two away in the bottom of the first for the Rainbow Warriors (11-11, 22-19). David Whittle had the lone hit for the Highlanders (9-13, 14-30).

In Atlanta, XU tied the game with a run in the top of the ninth and Carter Christenson smacked a three-run homer in the 10th to kick off their series at GT. Tanner Thomas went 2 for 3 with a double, a homer and two runs for the Musketeers (22-25). Michael Murphy (3-0) hurled 6.1 innings of relief, scattering nine hits with two runs, no walks and six strikeouts to earn the victory. Ryan Zuckerman homered twice and knocked in three for the Yellow Jackets (37-8).

In East Lansing, Mich., Mulivai Levu erased a 1-0 deficit with a two-run homer in the eighth as UCLA took the Big Ten series opener at MSU. Cashel Dugger had an RBI double and scored in the ninth for the Bruins (22-0, 41-4). Khamaree Thomas delivered a run-scoring single in the fourth for the Spartans (10-15, 16-26).

In Austin, Texas, Dylan Volantis and three relievers combined to match the program record with 19 strikeouts as UT nipped MSU in Game 1 of their SEC series. Volantis (7-0) worked six scoreless innings with three hits, two walks and 12 strikeouts. Haiden Leffew (1.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 BB) fanned three, Thomas Burns (0.2 IP) fanned one and Sam Cozart struck out the side in the ninth on 12 pitches to record his seventh save. Aiden Robbins had an RBI single and scored in the fifth for the Longhorns (14-7, 34-9). Gehrig Frei homered in the eighth for the Bulldogs (13-9, 35-11).

In Athens, Ga., Joey Volchko and Matt Scott combined on the six-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts as UGA claimed the SEC series lid-lifter with Mizzou. Volchko (7-2) worked six innings with five hits, two walk and nine strikeouts, while Scott pitched the final three frames with one hit and three punchouts to notch his third save. Ryan Black knocked in three for the Bulldogs (16-6, 36-11), delivering a sacrifice fly in the fifth and a two-run single in the eighth. Michael O’Shaughnessy went deep in the seventh for his 15th homer of the season. Kam Durnin and Mateo Serna both had a hit and a walk for the Tigers (4-18, 21-24).

In Corvallis, Ore., Trent Abel snapped a 6-6 tie in the top of the 10th with a squeeze bunt as CSUN outlasted OSU in their series opener. Vaughn Coleman went 4 for 4 with two homers and three RBI for the Matadors (24-20). James Voorhies (4-2) pitched 2.2 hitless innings of relief with one walk and three strikeouts to earn the victory. Paul Vazquez had a three-run dinger in the second for the Beavers (34-11).
