Charlottesville Super Regional
No. 7 Virginia 12, Duke 2 (Duke eliminated)
No. 7 Virginia advances to College World Series
Brian Edgington went the distance with a season-high 11 strikeouts as UVA downed Duke to win the Super Regional. The Cavaliers advanced to the College World Series for the sixth time and the first since 2021. Edgington (7-3) scattered nine hits and walked one. Kyle Teel (2 for 5, 4 RBI) had a two-run single to cap a five-run second for the Cavs (50-13). Jay Beshears (3 for 4) had a two-run homer for the Blue Devils (39-24) in the top of the sixth before a two-run dinger by Ethan Anderson highlighted a four-run bottom of the sixth as UVA went up 9-2. The Cavs plated two in the seventh and Anthony Stephan (2 for 3, 2 R) went deep in the eighth to make the final 12-2. Griff O’Ferrall went 4 for 5 with a double, two runs and one RBI while Ethan ODonnell was 3 for 4 with a double, three runs and two RBI for UVA.
Eugene Super Regional
Oral Roberts 11, Oregon 6 (UO eliminated)
Oral Roberts advances to College World Series
Jake McMurray went 4 for 5 with three runs and two RBI as ORU outscored UO to reach the College World Series for the second time in program history and the first since 1978. McMurray singled and scored in the top of the first for the Golden Eagles (51-12) before Tanner Smith (2 for 4, 4 RBI) belted a three-run homer in the bottom of the first for the Ducks (41-22). Jonah Cox had a leadoff single in the third to extend his hitting streak to 48 games and scored on a base hit by Mac McCroskey as ORU pulled with one at 3-2. McMurray had an RBI single in a three-run fourth as the Eagles took a 5-3 lead. McMurray added a run-scoring single in a three-run seventh and ORU plated three more in the ninth to secure the victory. Dalton Patten pitched the final three innings with one hit, one run and three strikeouts to earn his fifth save. Sabin Ceballos went 2 for 3 with a homer, two runs and two RBI for UO.
Stanford Super Regional
No. 8 Stanford 8, Texas 3 (series tied 1-1)
Quinn Mathews went the distance with 16 strikeouts as Stanford evened its series with Texas. Mathews (10-4) scattered eight hits and walked one. The Cardinal (43-18) started the scoring in the second as Alberto Rios drew a leadoff walk and came home on a sacrifice fly by Temo Becerra (2 for 3). Jared Thomas had an RBI triple and scored on a sac fly by Dylan Campbell as the Longhorns (42-21) went up 2-1. Becerra had a double and scored on a two-bagger by Tommy Troy as Stanford tied it at 2-2. Drew Bowser had a two-run homer in a three-run fifth as the Cardinal took a 5-2 advantage. Mitchell Daly (2 for 4, 2 R) homered in the seventh to pull UT within two before a two-run single by Eddie Park (2 for 4) highlighted a three-run ninth for the victors. Malcolm Moore went 3 for 5 with two runs and one RBI for Stanford.
Baton Rouge Super Regional
No. 5 LSU 8, No. 12 Kentucky 3 (UK eliminated)
No. 5 LSU advances to College World Series
Dylan Crews reached base five times and knocked in three, while Cade Beloso belted a three-run homer, as LSU defeated UK to make its 19th trip to the College World Series and first since 2017. Jackson Gray had a leadoff homer in the bottom of the first as the Wildcats (40-21) took the early lead. Gavin Dugas was hit by a pitch and came home on a fielder’s choice by Crews in the second as the Tigers (48-15) tied it at 1-1. Beloso had a three-run homer in a four-run third as LSU took the lead for good at 5-1. Devin Burkes went deep in the bottom of the third and Nolan McCarthy had a leadoff homer in the fourth as UK pulled with two at 5-3. Crews had a two-run single in a three-run ninth to make the final 8-3. Crews had one hit and drew four walks. Riley Cooper (4-3) tossed three innings of scoreless relief with two hits, one walk and two strikeouts to earn the victory. Gavin Guidry pitched the final 2.2 innings with one hit and four strikeouts to register his third save.
Winston-Salem Super Regional
No. 1 Wake Forest 22, No. 16 Alabama 5 (UA eliminated)
No. 1 Wake Forest advances to College World Series
Brock Wilken doubled and went deep three times, three of his team’s nine home runs, as WFU outscored UA to sweep the Super Regional and make its third trip to the College World Series and first since 1955. Nick Kurtz had a two-run homer in the top of the first followed by a solo shot by Wilken (4 for 5, 5 R, 3 RBI) as the Demon Deacons (52-10) led 3-0. Andrew Pinckney had a two-run dinger in the bottom of the first as the Crimson Tide (43-21) pulled within one at 3-2. Tommy Hawke had a two-run homer in the second before Wilken went deep in the third followed by a three-run homer by Danny Corona (3 for 6, 3 R, 6 RBI) and a solo shot by Bennett Lee (2 for 4, 3 BB, 3 R) as WFU led 10-3. Marek Houston had a grand slam in a six=run eighth before Wilken went deep again in the ninth and Corona added a three-run shot to make the final 22-5. Josh Hartle (11-2, 6.0 IP, 7 H, 4 R, BB) fanned 11 in recording the win. Colby Shelton homered twice for UA.
Hattiesburg Super Regional
Southern Miss 5, Tennessee 3 (USM leads series 1-0)
Tennessee 8, Southern Miss 4 (series tied 1-1)
Justin Storm tossed 4.1 innings of scoreless relief as USM edged UT in Game 1 of their series. Billy Oldham (4.1 IP, 2 H, R, 5 K) pitched on Saturday before the game was suspended due to weather. The Vols (41-20) scored three when play resumed, but Storm shut the door to secure the win. Tate Parker (2 for 4, 2 RBI) had a two-run triple in the first to start the scoring for the Golden Eagles (46-18). Dustin Dickerson (2 for 3, 2 R) homered in the third and Nick Monistere went deep an inning later as USM led 4-0 when play was halted. Parker doubled and scored in the sixth as the Eagles led 5-3. Jared Dickey knocked in two for UT.
Blake Burke had a double, a homer, two runs and two RBI as UT defeated USM to even their series at 1-1. Christopher Sargent had a three-run homer to cap a four-run third for the Golden Eagles (46-19). Burke had a two-run dinger and Jared Dickey had a two-run single in a six-run fourth for the Vols (42-20). UT added two runs in the fifth to extend its lead to 8-4. Chase Dollander (7-6) hurled eight innings with seven hits, four runs, one walk and seven strikeouts to record the win.
