Charlottesville Super Regional

Luke Storm had an RBI single to snap a 4-4 tie and cap a two-run eighth, while Tyler Albright caught Jake Gelof’s potential game-winning hit on the warning track in left in the bottom of the ninth as Duke edged UVA in Game 1 of their Super Regional series. Damon Lux smacked a two-run homer in the top of the third as the Blue Devils (39-22) took the early lead. Colin Tuft walked and scored on a fielder’s choice by Ethan O’Donnell in the bottom of the frame as the Cavaliers (48-13) cut the deficit in half at 2-1. Andrew Fischer (2 for 5) tripled and scored on an error in the fifth as Duke went up 3-1. Geloff doubled and scored to spark a three-run sixth as UVA took its first lead at 4-3. Storm had an RBI single to cap a two-run eighth as the Blue Devils took a 5-4 edge. Griff O’Ferrall (2 for 5) had a two-out single in the bottom of the ninth and O’Donnell walked before Gelof’s long flyout to left ended the game. Fran Oschell III (6-0) tossed 2.2 innings of scoreless relief with one hit and three strikeouts to earn the victory. James Tallon pitched the ninth and picked up his 12th save.
Fort Worth Super Regional
TCU 4, No. 14 Indiana State 1 (TCU leads series 1-0)
Kole Klecker tossed seven scoreless innings with nine strikeouts as TCU topped ISU to kick off their Super Regional series. Klecker (10-4) allowed three hits and one walk. Luke Savage pitched the final two innings with one hit, one run, one walk and two strikeouts for his second save. Austin Davis had a leadoff homer in the top of the third and Cole Fontenelle (2 for 3, 2 R) added a two-run shot later in the frame for the Horned Frogs (37-22). Fontenelle doubled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Kurtis Byrne (2 for 3) to extend the lead to 4-0. Keegan Watson (2 for 4) had a two-out homer in the ninth as the Sycamores (45-16) avoided the shutout.
Gainesville Super Regional
No. 2 Florida 5, No. 15 South Carolina 4 (UF leads series 1-0)
BT Riopelle homered in the sixth to break a 3-3 tie as UF nipped USC in Game 1 of their Super Regional series. Will McGillis (3 for 5, 3 RBI) homered in a two-run top of the first for the Gamecocks (42-20). Josh Rivera tied it with a two-run dinger in the bottom of the first for the Gators (49-15). McGillis had an RBI single in the second as USC went up 3-2. After Riopelle went deep in the sixth, Tyler Shelnut added an RBI single in the eighth as UF took a 5-3 advantage. McGillis went deep again in the ninth for the Gamecocks. Brandon Sproat (8-3, 6.0 IP, 9 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 7 K) earned the win, while Brandon Neely fanned two in the ninth for his 13th save.
Eugene Super Regional
Oregon 9, Oral Roberts 8 (UO leads series 1-0)
Drew Cowley had an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to complete an eight-run comeback as UO rallied past ORU in the opener of their Super Regional series. Matt Hogan had a three-run homer and Jake McMurray added a three-run single in an eight-run third for the Golden Eagles (49-12). Jacob Walsh and Bennett Thompson had homers in the bottom of the third for the Ducks (41-20). Thompson added a three-run dinger in the fourth to make it an 8-5 contest. Drew Smith went deep for UO in the seventh before Cowley and Smith had run-scoring singles in the eighth to level the score at 8-8. Oregon became the first team out of 97 to rally from an eight-run deficit in the Super Regionals
