Nashville Super Regional
No. 2 Vanderbilt 3, Duke 0 (series tied 1-1)
Freshman Kumar Rocker tossed the eighth no-hitter in NCAA Tournament history with 19 strikeouts as Vandy blanked Duke to even their series at 1-1. Rocker (10-5) faced three over the minimum, walking two and hitting one. He threw 131 pitches against the Blue Devils (35-26) in recording the first no-hitter in a Super Regional contest. Philip Clarke had an RBI single in the fifth for the Commodores (53-11) to snap the scoreless tie. In the eighth, Pat DeMarco had a leadoff triple and scored on a sac fly by Stephen Scott to make it 2-0. Julian Infante had a squeeze bunt single to knock in the third run later in the frame.
Los Angeles Super Regional
No. 1 UCLA 5, Michigan 4 (12 innings) (series tied 1-1)
Kevin Kendall had an RBI double in the top of the 12th as UCLA outlasted UM to force a winner-take-all game on Sunday for a trip to Omaha. The Bruins (52-10) trailed 3-1 after five innings before an RBI single by Jack Stronach in the sixth made it a one-run game. Michael Toglia (1 for 2, 4 BB, 2 R, 2 RBI) homered in the eighth as the Bruins tied the game at 3-3. Ryan Kreidler walked and scored on an error in the top of the ninth as UCLA took a 4-3 advantage. Jimmy Kerr (2 for 5) doubled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Jack Blomgren in the bottom of the ninth for the Wolverines (45-20) to force extra innings. UM nearly won it later in the ninth as Joe Donovan sent a fly ball to left that was caught in front of the wall to end the frame. Donavan had delivered a two-run homer in the second for the Wolverines. Pinch-hitter Jake Moberg reached on an error to lead off the 12th for the Bruins and scored on Kendall’s double with one away. Blomgren drew a leadoff walk in the bottom of the 12th for the Wolverines and was sacrificed to second, but was stranded there after a strikeout and a groundout. Holden Powell (4-3, 5 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 5 K) earned the victory.
Louisville Super Regional
No. 7 Louisville 12, No. 10 ECU 0 (Louisville wins 2-0, advances to College World Series)
Bobby Miller held ECU hitless for eight innings as UL secured the first spot in the 2019 College World Series. Miller (7-1) hit a batter and gave up a single to start the bottom of the ninth and end his day. He went 8.0 innings with one hit, two walks and five strikeouts. Michael Kirian recorded the final three outs to preserve the shutout. The Cardinals (49-16) scored three in the second, third, fifth and ninth innings. Justin Lavey went 3 for 3 with two doubles, three runs and three RBI, while Drew Campbell was 3 for 5 with a double, a triple, three runs and two RBI for UL. Thomas Francisco had the lone hit for the Pirates (47-18).
Baton Rouge Super Regional
Florida State 6, No. 13 LSU 4 (FSU leads 1-0)
LSU scored single runs in the second through fourth innings, but FSU scored six times over the final four frames in taking the first game of the series. Tim Becker had a sacrifice fly in the eighth to snap a 4-4 tie. Reese Albert homered twice, with a three-run dinger in the seventh to level the score at 4-4 and a solo shot to add an insurance run in the ninth for the Seminoles (40-21), who reached 40 wins for the 42nd straight season and 40th under Mike Martin. Antonio Velez (4-2, 1 IP, H, K) picked up the win, while J.C. Flowers (2 IP, H, BB, K) earned his 12th save. Josh Smith had two hits, including a double, and two runs for the Tigers (40-25).
Chapel Hill Super Regional
Auburn 11, No. 14 North Carolina 7 (Auburn leads 1-0)
Rankin Woley had a three-run double in the eighth to put Auburn on top for good, and Edouard Julian added a three-run homer in a five-run ninth, in a road victory at UNC. Steven Williams also went deep for the Tigers (37-25). Aaron Sabato went 3 for 5 with two doubles, two runs and two RBI for the Tar Heels (45-18).
Fayetteville Super Regional
No. 5 Arkansas 11, No. 12 Ole Miss 2 (Arkansas leads 1-0)
Jack Kenley belted a three-run homer to cap a four-run first as Arkansas rolled past Ole Miss. Matt Goodheart (2 for 5, 2 R, 3 RBI) and Trevor Ezell (3 for 5, 2 2B, 3 R) also went deep for the Razorbacks (45-17). Isaiah Campbell (12-1, 8.1 IP, 5 H, 2 R, BB, 7 K) earned the victory. Grae Kessinger and Thomas Dillard (2 for 4) both had solo shots for the Rebels (40-26).
Lubbock Super Regional
No. 9 Oklahoma State 6, No. 8 Texas Tech 5 (series tied 1-1)
Noah Sifrit drew a leadoff walk and scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth as OSU evened its series with TTU. Colin Simpson had a two-run homer in the eighth to give the Cowboys (40-20) a 5-4 lead before a sacrifice fly by Brian Klein in the top of the ninth for the Red Raiders (43-18) tied the game at 5-5. Simpson finished with two hits and three RBI, while Hueston Morrill went 3 for 3 with a homer, three runs and two RBI for OSU. Dru Baker went 2 for 3 with a homer, two runs and two RBI for TTU.
Starkville Super Regional
No. 6 Mississippi State 6, No. 11 Stanford 2 (MSU leads 1-0)
Dustin Skelton had a two-run double in the third to snap a 1-1 tie as MSU won the series opener over Stanford. Skelton had two doubles and scored once, while Jordan Westburg went 2 for 5 with a double, two runs and one RBI for the Bulldogs (50-13). Ethan Small (6 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 8 K) earned the win. Maverick Handley had two hits and one run, while Christian Robinson went 2 for 4 with one RBI for the Cardinal (45-13).
