No. 1 Florida 9-3, Harvard 2-1
In Gainesville, Fla., Alex Faedo allowed two hits and fanned a career-best 13 in 8.1 innings as Florida completed a doubleheader and series sweep of Harvard. Faedo (4-0) surrendered one unearned run and did not walk a batter. Peter Alonso went 3 for 4 with a run, while Nelson Maldonado drove in a pair for the Gators (17-1), who have won 11 straight. Trent Bryan went 1 for 3 with a double and a run for the Crimson (2-5). In the opener, Alonso (3 for 4, 2 R, 3 RBI) and Maldonado (1 for 4, 3 RBI) both went deep as UF downed Harvard. The game was tied at 1-1 before the Gators put up four in the sixth and three in the seventh. Matt Rothenberg had two hits for the Crimson.
Mississippi State 9, No. 9 Oregon 3
In Starkville, Miss., Austin Sexton struck out 12 in six shutout innings as MSU clinched a series victory against Oregon. Sexton (2-1) allowed four hits and four walks. Nathaniel Lowe and Hunter Stovall both had doubles and two RBI for the Bulldogs (11-3-1). Tim Susnara went 2 for 4 with one run for the Ducks (8-4).
No. 2 Vanderbilt 14, Xavier 3
In Nashville, Tenn., Kyle Smith went 3 for 4 with a homer, two runs and three RBI as Vanderbilt beat Xavier. After a scoreless first two innings, the Commodores (14-1) scored in each of their next six at-bats, including four in the fifth and eighth. Walker Grisanti (2 for 3, 2B, 2 BB) and Ethan Paul (2 for 3, 2B, 2 RBI) both scored three for Vandy. Joe Gellenbeck homered for the Musketeers (3-10).
No. 3 Texas A&M 4, Fresno State 3 (10 innings)
In College Station, Texas, Walker Pennington’s RBI double capped a two-run 10th as Texas A&M rallied past Fresno State. Ryne Birk had two hits and two RBI for the Red Raiders (14-1). A&M starter Tyler Ivey (7 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 BB) fanned 12. McCarthy Tatum knocked in a pair for the Bulldogs (11-4).
No. 4 Oregon State 4, San Francisco 0
In Corvallis, Ore., Jake Thompson and two relievers combined on a five-hit shutout as Oregon State blanked San Francisco. Thompson allowed three hits and a walk in 4.2 innings with three strikeouts. Luke Heimlich (3-0) earned the victory, going 3.0 innings with two hits, one walk and three punchouts. Mitch Hickey fanned two of the final four batters to preserve the shutout. Blake Valley had two hits for the Dons (2-14).
No. 5 Louisville 1, Notre Dame 0
In Louisville, Ky., a squeeze bunt by Logan Taylor in the bottom of the eighth plated Ryan Summers with the game’s only run as Louisville completed an ACC sweep of Notre Dame. Nick Solak had three hits, including a double, while Corey Ray went 2 for 3 with a walk for the Cardinals (3-0, 13-2). Drew Harrington (3-1) tossed eight scoreless innings with five hits, no walks and seven strikeouts to earn the victory. Zack Burdi worked a hitless ninth with one strikeout to record his first save. Lane Richards had two hits for the Irish (0-3, 6-8).
No. 6 Miami 11, Virginia Tech 6
In Blacksburg, Va., Johnny Ruiz went 3 for 4 with a homer and four RBI as Miami rallied to even its ACC series at Virginia Tech. The Hurricanes (1-1, 12-3) trailed 5-2 after four innings before scoring in each of their final five at-bats. Edgar Michelangeli went 3 for 3 with two RBI, while Willie Abreu was 2 for 3 with two doubles and three runs for Miami. Saige Jenco went 3 for 4 with two runs and one RBI for the Hokies (1-1, 10-6).
No. 7 LSU 9, Ball State 3
In Baton Rouge, La., Kramer Robertson went 3 for 3 with two walks and two RBI as LSU evened its series with Ball State. The Tigers (11-3) erased a 2-1 deficit with an eight-run fourth. Alex Lange (2-0, 6 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 4 BB, 5 K) earned the victory. Ryan Spaulding drove in a pair for the Cardinals (8-8).
No. 7 North Carolina 4, Pittsburgh 0
In Chapel Hill, N.C., J.B. Bukauskas hurled seven scoreless with a career-best 11 strikeouts as UNC clinched an ACC series victory against Pitt. Bukauskas (2-0) allowed five hits and walked two. A.J. Bogucki tossed two innings with two hits and one walk to preserve the shutout. The Tar Heels (2-0, 12-1) scored twice in both the first and third. Tyler Ramirez went 2 for 4 with a homer and three RBI, while Adam Pate had two hits and two runs for UNC. Matt Johnson and David Yanni both had two hits for the Panthers (0-2, 6-6).
No. 9 TCU 12, USC 11 (10 innings)
In Fort Worth, Texas, Dane Steinhagen drew a bases-loaded walk to cap a two-run 10th as TCU outscored USC. The Horned Frogs (12-2) took a 10-5 lead in the sixth before the Trojans (6-7) tied it with five in the eighth. USC plated one in the top of the 10th before TCU won it in the bottom of the frame. Evan Skoug went 4 for 6 with four runs and three RBI to lead the TCU offense. Timmy Robinson went 4 for 5 with two runs and two RBI for USC.
Texas Tech 11, No. 11 California 8
In Berkeley, Calif., Cory Raley homered twice and drove in four as Texas Tech evened its series at Cal. The Golden Bears (10-4) scored seven in the fifth to take an 8-5 lead. Raley’s three-run shot in the seventh tied it before three more in the eighth gave the lead to the Red Raiders (9-6). Hayden Howard (3-1, 3 IP, H, 5 K) earned the victory. Brett Cumberland had two doubles, two runs and two RBI for Cal.
