After a 4-1 week – including a three-game sweep of No. 1 LSU – Texas has been named the CollegeBaseballInsider.com National Team of the Week for games played Feb. 25-March3.

The Longhorns beat Sam Houston State before dropping a game to UT San Antonio during the week. But Texas turned heads over the weekend with its three-game sweep of the Tigers in Austin.

Regional Teams of the Week

  • Northeast – Xavier picked up an upset at Louisville before sweeping three on the road at Lipscomb.
  • Southeast – Mississippi State put together a 4-0 week, beating Jacksonville State and Southeast Louisiana before beating Sam Houston State and Texas Tech at the Frisco Classic.
  • Central – Texas A&M went 4-1, beating Houston Baptist and dropping a game to Incarnate Word before sweeping Baylor, TCU and Houston in the Shriners Classic.
  • West – Arizona State posted a 4-0 week, beating Pepperdine and sweeping three games from Michigan State.

Honor Roll

  • VCU went 4-1, losing a one-runner to Maryland before beating North Carolina and sweeping three from Cornell.
  • William & Mary went 4-0, winning at Virginia and sweeping three at Lipscomb.
  • Bryant traveled to Virginia Tech and took two of three from the Hokies.
  • Wake Forest went 5-0, beating Elon and UNC Greensboro before sweeping three from Furman.
  • Samford went 4-0, winning at Alabama State and sweeping three at Georgia State.
  • South Carolina went 3-1, knocking off Appalachian State and winning its rivalry series with Clemson.
  • Rice earned a win against Prairie View before going 2-1 at the Shriners Classic with wins over Baylor and TCU and a loss to Texas State 
  • Iowa traveled to Oklahoma State and took two of three from the Cowboys.
  • Louisiana Tech went 4-0, winning at Little Rock and sweeping three from Arkansas State.
  • Old Dominion posted a 5-0 week, beating Norfolk State and VMI before sweeping three from Rutgers.
  • Wright State went 2-1 at the LeClair Classic, beating Western Carolina and host East Carolina and falling to Utah.
  • Ball State went 3-1, taking two games from Notre Dame and splitting two games with Charleston Southern at its tourney.
  • Texas A&M-Corpus Christi went 5-0, beating Ohio State and Texas State before sweeping three from Eastern Michigan.
  • UC Riverside went 4-0, winning at Grand Canyon before sweeping three from Cal Baptist.
  • Stanford went 3-1, knocking off San Francisco and winning its road series against Cal State Fullerton.
