No. 1 Florida 5, No. 6 South Carolina 4

In Columbia, S.C., Jonathan India and Nick Horvath homered in the top of the ninth to erase a 4-3 deficit and give Florida an SEC series-opening win. JJ Schwarz had a two-run homer in the sixth for the Gators (14-5, 37-6). Dane Dunning (3-2, 3 IP, 2 H, 3 K) earned the victory, while Shaun Anderson worked a scoreless ninth with one hit and one walk to register his 10th save. Chris Cullen (3 for 4, 2 RBI) and Alex Destino (1 for 4, 2 RBI) both went deep for the Gamecocks (14-5, 33-9).

No. 13 Texas Tech 7, No. 10 TCU 3

In Fort Worth, Texas, Stephen Smith was a homer short of the cycle, going 4 for 6 with two RBI as Texas Tech topped TCU to kick off their Big 12 series. The Red Raiders (13-3, 33-12) used a four-run sixth to build on a 2-1 lead. Eric Gutierrez went 3 for 5 with a homer and two runs for TTU, who stranded 13. Davis Martin (7-0, 6.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K) recorded the victory. Elliott Barzilli went deep for the Horned Frogs (10-6, 29-11).

No. 11 LSU 6, No. 14 Ole Miss 3

In Oxford, Miss., Alex Lange pitched his second consecutive complete game as LSU evened its SEC series at Ole Miss. Lange (5-3) allowed seven hits and two earned runs with one walk and seven strikeouts. The Tigers (11-9, 28-15) scored in each of the first three innings in building a 4-2 lead before adding a pair in the sixth. Jordan Romero went 2 for 2 with a homer and three RBI for LSU. J.B. Woodman (2 for 3, 2 R, 2 RBI) went deep for the Rebels (11-9, 32-12).

No. 3 Miami 13, Florida A&M 3

In Coral Gables, Fla., Brandon Lopez was a triple short of the cycle, going 3 for 5 four runs and two RBI as Miami downed Florida A&M. Carl Chester homered and drove in two, while Johnny Ruiz had two hit and three runs for the Hurricanes (31-8). Thomas Woodrey (5-3, 6 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 BB, 6 K) picked up the win, while Kevin Pimentel (3 IP, 5 H, BB, K) recorded his first save. Brian Davis went 4 for 5 with a run and an RBI, while Ben Elzey homered and drove in two for the Rattlers (24-15).

No. 7 Vanderbilt 15, Georgia 3

In Nashville, Julian Infante and Alonzo   Jones each drove in three, and Bryan Reynolds went 3 for 4 with a solo homer and four runs as Vanderbilt trampled Georgia. Jordan Sheffield turned in seven strong innings to improve to 7-2 for Vandy. Skyler Weber went 3 for 5 with a run for the Bulldogs.

No. 8 Louisville 8, St. John’s 4

In Louisville, Ky., Corey Ray went 3 for 4 with two homers and two RBI, and Danny Rosenbaum also homered and drove in two as Louisville beat St. John’s. Brendan McKay (8-2) allowed  eight hits and one earned run in 6.1 innings and delivered two hits and two RBI to help his cause. Jesse Berardi went 4 for 5 with a run and Josh Shaw had two RBI for the Red Storm.

No. 9 NC State 3, Duke 2

In Raleigh, N.C., Evan Mendoza singled in the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth as NC State edged Duke in the ACC. Mendoza finished with two hits and a run, and Joe Dunand added two hits and an RBI for the Wolfpack (11-6, 30-11). Brock Deatherage added an RBI triple in the eighth to tie the game at 2. Cory Wilder allowed six hits and one earned run in 6.1 innings as the Blue Devils scored their runs in the first on a passed ball and a wild pitch. Kellen Urbon allowed four hits and one earned run in 7.1 innings for Duke.

No. 12 Oregon State 3, Stanford 2

In Corvallis, Ore., Christian Donahue drew a bases-loaded walk to cap a two-run rally in the bottom of the ninth as OSU edged Stanford to begin their Pac-12 series. Steven Kwan had a bunt single to bring home the tying run in the ninth for the Beavers (9-7, 27-11). KJ Harrison homered in the fourth for OSU. Bryce Fehmel (7-1) pitched a perfect ninth to record the win in relief of Travis Eckert (8 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 5 K). Matt Winaker and Brandon Wulff both had two hits and a run for the Cardinal (7-9, 19-17).

No. 15 UC Santa Barbara 14, Hawaii 2

In Santa Barbara, Calif., UCSB scored multiple runs in five of its eight at-bats in battering Hawaii to kick off their Big West series. Austin Bush (3 for 5, 2 R, 5 RBI) and Dempsey Grover (1 for 4, 3 RBI) both homered for the Gauchos (6-4, 27-10-1). Shane Bieber (8-2, 7 IP, 6 H, R, BB, 7 K) registered the win. Matt Lococo went 2 for 2 with a run for the Rainbows (7-6, 18-21).

Georgia Tech 9, No. 18 Coastal Carolina 1

In Atlanta, Brandon Gold turned in eight splendid innings, and Brandt Stallings had two hits, including a homer, and four RBI as Georgia Tech coasted past Coastal Carolina. Gold (5-2) allowed six hits and one earned run and struck out five for the Yellow Jackets (28-14). G.K. Young drove in the lone run for the Chants (31-12).

FAU 9, No. 20 Southern Miss 5

In Boca Raton, Fla., Stephen Kerr drove in three and was a homer shy of a cycle, and Tyler Frank added three RBI as FAU topped Southern Miss to close within a game at the top of the Conference USA standings. Nick Swan was terrific in relief, tossing 4.2 innings with one hit – he retired the final 11 hitters of the game. Hunter Slater hit a three-run homer in the first inning and finished with four RBI for Southern Miss.

No. 2 Texas A&M at Arkansas, No. 4 Mississippi State at Alabama, No. 17 Oklahoma State at Texas and No. 19 UL Lafayette at UT Arlington all postponed due to inclement weather. All are scheduled to play Saturday doubleheaders.
