Team of the Week
Maryland
is CBI Louisville Slugger Team of the Week
Maryland put together a 5-0 week, including a three-game ACC
sweep of No. 11 NC State, and has been named the CollegeBaseballInsider.com
Louisville Slugger Team of the Week for games played March 17-23.
The Terrapins started the week with a 5-2 win at Delaware on
Tuesday and blanked UMBC 6-0 on Wednesday. Maryland hosted the Wolfpack over the
weekend and posted victories of 10-0 on Friday, 7-4 on Saturday and 5-2 on
Sunday.
Regional Teams of the Week
Northeast: UNCW went 3-1 this past
week, winning at Coastal Carolina before taking two of three at home from West
Virginia of the Big 12.
Southeast: Kentucky enjoyed a 3-1
week, downing Western Kentucky before winning two of three against second-ranked
South Carolina.
Central: Baylor put together a 3-1
week, defeating Houston Baptist before taking two of three from Oklahoma State
West: Washington manufactured a 4-0
week, defeating Portland before sweeping a three-game set from Arizona to move
into a tie for first in the Pac-12.
Honorable Mention
Mississippi State took two of three
at home from fourth-ranked Vanderbilt.
New Mexico had a 4-1 week, winning
twice against New Mexico before taking two of three from San Jose State.
Georgia Tech put together a 4-1 week
on the road, winning at Kennesaw State and at Georgia State before taking two of
three at No. 13 North Carolina.
St.John’s went 5-0 at home with wins
over Fairfield, LIU Brooklyn and three over James Madison to extend its win
streak to 10.
Indiana had a 3-1 week with a
victory over No. 10 Louisville and two wins out of three against Michigan.
Davidson went 3-1 at home, beating
Wake Forest and taking two of three from Wofford.
Ohio State put together a 4-1 week,
beating Akron and Xavier before winning two of three from Michigan State.
Temple took two of three at Memphis.
Loyola Marymount went 3-1, winning
at Long Beach State before taking two of three at San Diego.
Central Arkansas enjoyed a 5-0 week,
taking two from Arkansas-Pine Bluff before sweeping a three-game set from Sam
Houston State.
