Team of the Week

Florida State is CBI Louisville Slugger Team of the Week

 

Florida State went 5-0, including a three-game sweep of sixth-ranked NC State, and has been named the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Louisville Slugger Team of the Week for games played March 10-16.

 

The Seminoles started the week with a pair of victories at UCF, 11-10 on Tuesday and 18-1 on Wednesday. The Wolfpack traveled to Tallahassee over the weekend for a three-game ACC set. FSU won 6-1 on Friday before sweeping a Saturday doubleheader, 8-2 and 9-8.

  

Regional Teams of the Week

 

Northeast: VCU enjoyed a 4-1 week, rebounding from a loss at Charlotte to win a slugfest at Virginia Tech and post home wins over Lafayette, Buffalo and Rutgers.

 

Southeast: Vanderbilt put together a 3-1 week, topping Eastern Illinois before taking two of three from seventh-ranked LSU.

 

Central: Rice recorded an impressive 5-0 week, posting home wins over TCU and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi before sweeping a three-game Conference USA set at FIU.


West: UC Santa Barbara went 3-1 this past week, downing Pepperdine before taking two of three from Wichita State.

 

Honorable Mention

Jackson State enjoyed a 7-0 week, claiming two wins over ULM, two over Lemoyne-Owen and a three-game SWAC sweep of Mississippi Valley State.

High Point took two of three from Big South preseason favorite Coastal Carolina.

Liberty had a 3-1 week, winning at Elon before taking two of three from Campbell.

Indiana State put together a 3-1 week, defeating SIUE before winning two of three at UNCW.

Washington opened Pac-12 play by taking two of three at Arizona State.

Georgia Tech went 3-1, downing Western Carolina before winning two of three from No. 17 Miami (Fla.)

Davidson swept a three-game SoCon series from The Citadel to extend its win streak to seven.

Alabama had a 3-1 week, defeating Samford prior to an SEC series win over No. 20 Kentucky.

College of Charleston had a 4-1 week, winning at The Citadel, beating Jacksonville, losing to Kent State and taking two from Michigan.

Washington State started its Pac-12 schedule by taking two of three at Arizona.
