Team of the Week
Gonzaga named CBI Team of the Week
 After
completing a three-game sweep of No. 14 UC Irvine, Gonzaga is the
CollegeBaseballInsider.com Team of the Week.
The Bulldogs opened their home schedule by allowing one run in 27
innings. Gonzaga beat the Anteaters 4-1 on Friday, 3-0 on Saturday and 3-0 again
on Sunday to extend its unbeaten streak to nine. The Bulldogs raised their
overall record to 13-7-1.
Regional Teams of the Week
Northeast: Charlotte won at Wake
Forest in 11 innings and at NC Central before taking two of three from Rhode
Island to open Atlantic 10 play.
Southeast: Mississippi State
continued its strong start with a three-game SEC sweep of Auburn.
Central: Oklahoma State beat
Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Washington before taking two of three in a Big 12 series
from fourth-ranked Texas.
West: No. 16 Cal State Fullerton
split a pair with sixth-ranked Arizona State before sweeping a four-game series
at Hawaii despite the suspension of eight players.
Honorable Mention
No. 12 Georgia Tech won at Georgia
before sweeping a three-game ACC series at Miami (Fla.).
No. 5 South Carolina beat College of
Charleston and Rhode Island prior to taking two of three SEC contests at
top-ranked Florida.
Miami (Ohio) took two from Eastern
Kentucky before sweeping MAC West favorite Central Michigan.
Georgia Southern beat Kennesaw State
twice prior to taking two of three at Southern Conference favorite College of
Charleston.
No. 2 Vanderbilt topped Tennessee
Tech before taking two of three at SEC-rival No. 19 Arkansas.
California beat Nevada and swept a
three-game Pac-10 series from Washington State. Three of the four victories were
shutouts.
Dartmouth enjoyed a 5-0 week in
Florida, beating UMBC four times and Grinnell once.
Alabama defeated UAB and
Jacksonville State before sweeping Kentucky in a SEC set to extend its win
streak to seven.
Stetson stopped Bethune-Cookman and
won at No. 7 Florida State in 11 before taking two of three from Atlantic Sun
opponent ETSU.
NC State took two from Northwestern
before winning two of three against No. 17 Clemson.
