Team of the Week

Cal State Fullerton Named CBI Team of the Week
  

Cal State Fullerton went 3-1 on the road this past week, including three wins against nationally-ranked opponents, and was named CollegeBaseballInsider.com Team of the Week.

The Titans, under head coach Dave Serrano (left), began with a 6-1 victory at No. 3 UCLA on Tuesday. Fullerton took two of three in a key Big West series at No. 19 UC Irvine over the weekend. After falling 7-4 on Friday, the Titans rebounded to win 6-3 on Saturday and 6-1 on Sunday to move into first place in the league standings.

Honorable Mention goes to VMI, which defeated Longwood and James Madison before sweeping a three-game Big South series at Gardner-Webb. Auburn beat Georgia State and South Alabama before taking two of three from No. 4 LSU. Virginia Tech topped NC Central before winning two of three from No. 11 Miami (Fla.). Washington State bounced back from a loss at BYU to take two of three from No. 1 Arizona State. Duke beat William and Mary before winning two of three from No. 15 Clemson. No. 5 Virginia defeated James Madison and Radford before taking two of three from No. 2 Georgia Tech. No. 12 South Carolina beat College of Charleston before taking two of three at No. 20 Vanderbilt. California defeated Stanford before sweeping a three-game Pac-10 set at USC. No. 6 Texas won two against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi before sweeping a three-game Big 12 series against Kansas. Connecticut won twice against Massachusetts before sweeping a three-game Big East set from Villanova. UCF won at USF before taking three at Southern Miss. Oregon went 2-1 at Stanford. Georgia Southern won two of three at Elon. Lehigh won at Temple and at Villanova in the Liberty Bell Classic before sweeping a four-game Patriot League set against Lafayette. Michigan State defeated Bowling Green before winning two of three at Minnesota. Eastern Kentucky won twice at ETSU before sweeping a three-game OVC set against Austin Peay. Liberty won at Old Dominion prior to a three-game Big South sweep at Radford. Bethune-Cookman was victorious at Stetson before sweeping a three-game MEAC set from North Carolina A&T. Bradley bounced back from a loss to Illinois to sweep a three-game MVC series from Missouri State. Toledo topped Olivet and won at Cleveland State before sweeping a three-game MAC set at Buffalo. UNLV split a two-game series with Texas Tech before sweeping a three-game MWC set at Utah. Illinois State rebounded from a loss to Northern Illinois to sweep a three-game MVC series at Creighton.
