San Diego Named CBI Team of the Week
 

By going 5-0 this past week, including a three-game sweep of No. 21 Pepperdine, San Diego is the CollegeBaseballInsider.com Team of the Week.

The Toreros started the week with a 10-2 win over Brown on Monday. The following day, USD defeated Long Beach State 12-5. In starting West Coast Conference play over the weekend, the Toreros defeated the Waves 8-6 on Friday, 4-0 on Saturday and 9-3 on Sunday to raise their record to 19-10.

Honorable mention goes to San Diego State, which took two from Southern Utah before winning two of three at No. 20 TCU. UC Irvine split a pair at Washington before sweeping a three-game Big West set from No. 18 Cal Poly. Dayton defeated Toledo and lost to Miami (Ohio) before sweeping a three-game A-10 series with preseason-favorite Charlotte. LSU took two from Harvard before winning two of three from No. 14 Ole Miss. Florida split a pair with UNF before posting a three-game SEC sweep of Alabama. Hawaii bounced back from a loss at Oregon State to take three of four from No. 15 Coastal Carolina. Texas-Arlington rebounded from a loss at No. 17 Texas A&M to sweep a Southland series at Nicholls State to move into a tie for first. East Carolina won at Campbell and defeated UNC Wilmington before taking two of three at Marshall. Liberty won at NC State before sweeping a three-game set from Presbyterian to stretch its win streak to nine. Texas A&M defeated UTA and Northwestern State before sweeping a three-game Big 12 series from Kansas. Loyola Marymount defeated Cal State Northridge before winning three at Santa Clara to extend its win streak to eight. Temple beat Monmouth and lost to Penn State before sweeping a three-game A-10 series from La Salle. Middle Tennessee bounced back from a loss at Lipscomb to win three at UALR. Southeast Missouri won three from Tennessee-Martin to extend its OVC win streak to six. Eastern Illinois won at Chicago State and beat Illinois State before defeating Tennessee Tech twice to stretch its win streak to seven. Oklahoma State took two from UNLV and a pair from Missouri. Missouri State rebounded from a loss at Arkansas to take two from Oral Roberts. Dartmouth defeated San Jose State and lost at Cal Poly before winning two at Penn and two at Columbia. Bryant beat Rhode Island and won four at Long Island to extend its win streak to six. Jackson State won a three-game SWAC set from Alabama State. New Mexico State won two against Texas-Brownsville before taking three at Texas-Pan American to stretch its win streak to seven. Illinois split a pair in Florida against Central Connecticut State before taking three from Michigan State. Creighton split a pair with North Dakota before sweeping a three-game series with Southern Illinois. Fairfield defeated Sacred Heart and won three at UMBC to extend its win streak to seven. Pittsburgh won at Akron and defeated Youngstown State before taking two of three from Notre Dame. Centenary won at Northwestern State before sweeping three from Arkansas-Pine Bluff to stretch its win streak to seven. Ohio defeated Eastern Kentucky before winning three at Western Michigan.
