Illinois Named CBI Team of the Week
 

With its series victory at top-ranked LSU this past weekend, Illinois is the CBI Team of the Week.

The Illini gave the Tigers their first losses at the new Alex Box Stadium. Illinois defeated LSU 3-1 on Friday evening. The Tigers outscored the Illini 22-10 on Saturday before Illinois claimed Sunday’s contest 6-2. The Illini raised their record to 7-2.

Honorable mention goes to Boston College, which split a pair at Florida Gulf Coast before winning its ACC series at nationally-ranked Florida State. Baylor defeated TCU and won against South Alabama, nationally-ranked UC Irvine and UAB in the QTI Baylor Classic. Texas won at Texas State and took two of three at nationally-ranked Stanford. Georgia Southern recorded wins over Winthrop, Indiana, Le Moyne and nationally-ranked East Carolina. UNC Wilmington defeated Wake Forest, went 2-0 against Kent State and 1-1 against Wright State. Cal State Fullerton won at San Diego State and swept a three-game set at Southern Miss. North Carolina got home wins over Longwood and Gardner-Webb and took two of three from nationally-ranked Clemson. Western Kentucky split a pair with Belmont before sweeping a three-game Sun Belt set against ULM. The Citadel rebounded from a lost to Coastal Carolina to take two of three from Southern Conference foe Elon. San Diego State bounced back from a lost to Cal State Fullerton to take three of four from cross-town rival San Diego.
