Palace went 9 for 24 (.375) with three doubles, four homers, 12 runs and 17 RBI as the Crusaders went 3-2 against Western Carolina and USC Upstate. He entered with two RBI in his first six games before his big week.

Taylor Clarke (Ashburn, Va.)

College of Charleston junior right-hander

Clarke tossed his first nine-inning complete game and struck out a school-record 18 batters in a 3-1 win over Radford. He allowed one run on five hits with no walks, striking out at least two batters in seven innings.

La Salle senior catcher

 

Welling went 10 for 15 (.667) with a homer, three doubles and nine RBI as La Salle won two of three at UNC Asheville.

Nick Gruener (Miami, Fla.)

Harvard sophomore right-hander

Gruener allowed just one run on three hits and struck out four as Harvard knocked off Mercer in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday.

Will Craig (Johnson City, Tenn.)

Wake Forest sophomore infielder/designated hitter

Craig hit .562 with three homers and seven RBI as the Demon Deacons went 3-1 against UNC Greensboro and Virginia Tech. Craig entered this week leading the ACC in average, RBI, slugging, total bases and doubles.

Carson Cross (Brentwood, N.H.)

UConn senior right-hander

Cross tossed a complete game against FIU, allowing one run on two hits and striking out 15.

T.J. Zeuch (Mason, Ohio)

Pitt sophomore right-hander

Zeuch turned in eight shutout innings with four hits, no walks and eight strikeouts as the Panthers edged top-ranked Virginia 1-0.

Central Player
Kyle Wood (Orland Park, Ill.)

Purdue junior first baseman

Wood went 9 for 11 with two homers and seven RBI in three games against Oklahoma, totaling an .846 OBA and 1.455 slugging percentage.

Alex Young (Hawthorn Woods, Ill.)

TCU junior left-hander

Young picked up two wins on the week, tossing two innings in relief against No. 13 Rice and eight innings in a win over No. 6 UCLA. On the week, he allowed five hits and one run and struck out 12 in 10 innings.

Collin Ferguson (Santa Cruz, Calif.)

Saint Mary’s senior first baseman

Ferguson went 10 for 17 (.588) with three homers, three doubles, nine runs and nine RBI in extending his hitting streak to 15 games and helping the Gaels to three wins in four games at Utah Valley.

Thomas Eshelman (Carlsbad, Calif.)

Cal State Fullerton junior right-hander

Eshelman was brilliant in a 4-0 complete-game win over No. 7 Texas Tech, allowing five hits and striking out a career-best 14.

Andrew Moore (Eugene, Ore.)

Oregon State junior right-hander

Moore allowed three hits and a run and struck out 10 in a 10-inning no-decision against Fresno State.
