18 Former Division I Players on World Series Rosters

There are 18 former Division I players among the 50 major leaguers listed on the World Series rosters.

The Texas Rangers have 10 former Division I players on their 25-man World Series roster. The San Francisco Giants have eight.

There are 16 Division I schools which have at least one alum in the postseason. There are two schools with two players: LSU and Miami (Fla.).

Alabama and Arkansas are the only schools to have had alums in each of the past two World Series. Former Razorback Cliff Lee is the only player to return to the Fall Classic from a season ago. A current Ranger, Lee pitched for the Philadelphia Phillies against the New York Yankees in the 2009 World Series.

There are seven players from the SEC, four from the ACC, two from the Big 12 and Big West, and one each from the Pac-10, Southland and West Coast.
