60 Former Division I Players on
Postseason Rosters
There
are 60 former Division I players among the 200 major leaguers
listed on postseason rosters.
The Tampa Bay Rays lead the way with 11 former
Division I players among the 25 on their postseason roster. The
Texas Rangers are second with 10 former Division I players. The
Minnesota Twins and San Francisco Giants both have eight,
followed by the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees with
seven each, the Atlanta Braves with six and the Cincinnati Reds
with three.
There are 44 Division I schools which have at
least one alum in the postseason. There are five schools with
three players: Florida State, Miami (Fla.), Nebraska, Rice and
UCLA. There are six schools
with two players:
Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, Florida, LSU and Oklahoma..
