68 Former Division I Players on
Postseason Rosters
There
are 68 former Division I players among the 200 major leaguers
listed on postseason rosters.
The Boston Red Sox lead the way with 12 former
Division I players among the 25 on their postseason roster,
including for Arizona State standout Dustin Pedroia (pictured).
The Colorado Rockies match the Red Sox with 12 former Division I
players. The Minnesota Twins have nine, followed by the
Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers with eight each.
The St. Louis Cardinals and New York Yankees each have seven. The Los Angeles Angels have the fewest with five.
There are 51 Division I schools which have at
least one alum in the postseason. UCLA leads the way with four,
followed by Long Beach State with three. There are 12 schools
with two players:
Arizona State, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Gonzaga, LSU, Missouri
State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Ole
Miss and UC Santa Barbara.
