The CAA Tournament will return to Brooks Field on the campus of UNC Wilmington for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. The championship was held there from 2004-2011 before moving to James Madison’s Veterans Memorial Park in Harrisonburg, Va., for 2012 and 2013.

 

Cal won 5-3 in its annual Alumni Game on Oct. 21. The highlight was the father-son combo of Mike and Andrew Knapp. Andrew, a junior catcher, contributed a RBI double and a run-scoring single for the Bears. Mike, a standout catcher for Cal in 1985 and 1986, had two hits and drove in a run. The Alumni tied the game in the seventh before the current Bears tallied single runs in the eighth and ninth to secure the victory.

 

Stetson topped the Canadian National Team 10-3 in an exhibition game on Oct. 20. Mitchel Brennan, Garrett Russini and James Rasmussen each drove in two for the Hatters. Austin Perez, one of 10 hurlers for Stetson, fanned two in one inning.

 

South Carolina head coach Chad Holbrook recently presented a check for $25,000 to Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital to help defeat pediatric cancer on behalf of the Reece Holbrook Win Anyway Foundation following its Golf Classic and Sports Auction.

 

Florida State will play its annual Garnet & Gold game over two days: Thursday at 3 p.m. and Friday at 6 p.m. The Seminoles will host the Ontario Blue Jays on Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. All three games are open to the public and free of charge.

 

Auburn has set the start times for its Fall World Series: Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., Friday at 3:45 p.m. and Oct. 23 at 3:30 p.m. (if necessary). All games will be seven innings.

 

Texas A&M will hold its Fall World Series on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 3 p.m. each day. Admission is free.
