Watson out at Stephen F. Austin

Donnie Watson's contract as head coach at Stephen F. Austin will not renewed, according to Director of Athletics Robert Hill.

Watson posted a record of 71-98 in three seasons after he was hired in September of 2004 to rebuild a program that had been dormant for 11 years. The Lumberjacks were 25-29 this past season and finished ninth in the Southland Conference, missing the conference tournament.

Assistant coach Johnny Cardenas will take over as interim head coach.
