2013 Coaching Changes
Cooper takes over as head coach
at Penn State
Rob
Cooper has resigned as head coach at Wright State to assume the
same position at Penn State.
Cooper coached the Raiders for the past nine
seasons, helping WSU post seven consecutive 30-win campaigns.
The Raiders won three of six Horizon League Championship Games
and advanced to the NCAA Tournament three times. Wright State
earned a pair of victories over teams ranked No. 1 in the
nation: Georgia (3/24/09) and Virginia (3/5/10).
In 2007 and 2009, Cooper served as an assistant
coach for Team USA. The 2007 squad won a silver medal at the
Pan-American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Prior to his time at Wright State, Cooper was an
assistant at Oral Roberts. He was hitting coach, recruiting
coordinator and bench coach for the Golden Eagles.
Cooper spent two seasons as a student/graduate
assistant at Miami (Fla.) from 1994-95. Cooper was an assistant
at Wake Forest in 1996 before serving as an assistant at Tulane
for two years. He also spent five seasons on staff at Sacramento
City College.
