2012 Coaching Changes
Folmar promoted at Oral Roberts
Assistant coach Ryan Folmar has been promoted to
head coach at Oral Roberts. He succeeds Rob Walton, who resigned
to become pitching coach at Oklahoma State.
Folmar has been with the
Golden Eagles for nine seasons as hitting coach. He helped ORU
win Summit League titles each year and advance to the NCAA
Tournament.
The Golden Eagles advanced to the Super Regionals
in 2006 and finished the season ranked in the Top 25. ORU
finished in the Top 20 nationally in batting average, runs and
slugging percentage.
The 2008 squad ranked in the Top 20 in hits,
doubles, batting average and runs.
Folmar was a four-year
letter winner at Oklahoma State from 1994-97, helping the
Cowboys reach the 1996 College World Series. He played for two
seasons in the Colorado Rockies organization.
Folmar spent five seasons
as Director of Baseball Operations at Oklahoma State from
1999-2003. He was responsible for administrative duties,
including the Cowboy baseball camps and handling color
commentary on OSU radio broadcasts for three years.
