2012 Coaching Changes
Burroughs hired as head coach
at Northwestern State
Former Mississippi State assistant coach Lane
Burroughs has been named head coach at Northwestern State.
Burroughs succeeds J.P. Davis, who resigned following the 2012
season.
Burroughs coached with John Cohen for the past
four years with the Bulldogs. He helped MSU win the SEC
championship and appear in its second straight NCAA Tournament.
He was also an assistant at Kansas State,
Southern Miss, Northwestern State and East Mississippi Community
College.
Burroughs was a catcher and outfielder at
Mississippi College, earning his degree in 1995. He received a
master’s degree in social sciences in 1996 as a graduate
assistant coach.
